  1. 4627 is a really good wax. There's no right answer because everybody likes something different. Some people like 464 wax. Some hate it.it takes lots of trial-and-error to figure out what you like best for you.why do you want to change it if you like what you have? I'm just curious. I am still experimenting on what I want.it could take you a year before you decide what you want but then again you might change your mind again lol it is a never-ending process that is for sure. I would do lots and lots of research and you'll be able to figure out what you want to try at least. Most people won't give up their formulas because they've spent a lot of time and a lot of money testing it.It's also depending on what brand fragrance oil you use and what the scent is. Some brands out there or pure garbage. And you use different amounts of fragrance depending on what descent is as well and depending on what wax you use too.someone might recommend the wax and you might hate it. Lol it can be frustrating but that's part of the fun. At least to me it is I enjoy learning. I called myself a mad scientist some days.it's definitely a lot harder than it seems and I would definitely do this for a year at least before selling to the public.sometimes people do well at first but then they don't understand it and then they could get shut down. so just buy you a few ten-pounders and then just start experimenting then you'll see what you like best for you.

  2. Sometimes you don't need to use the max fragrance oil in it. It depends on the scent. Are you buying pound bottles? That is the best way to save money and not have to keep buying lol unless you are like me. I get addicted to having a ton that now I'm selling some of my 1 oz. All was es have their good and bad points. There I'd no one right answer. We have to test, test and constantly test. It's part of the fun lol well sometimes. After many attempts will someone be ready to sell. A lot of people wait a year. I know it's a long time hut if you sell an inferior product people wont buy anymore. So get some sample bags of different ones you might like and start experimenting. There are many great choices. Everyone likes something different.

  3. It was $1 off pound but $2 off surplus. Which is cheap on the surplus since it's already reduced. Not an amazing sale but still a great deal. What I'm really upset about is that Bulk Apothecary had free shipping on everything but was sold out of the wax when I found out about the sale.

So after reading some posts a few weeks ago, I decided to try some of the FOs. I placed my order on Nov. 13.

Received an email Nov 15 stating I had fragrances that needed an ORM-D (that's a first for me - a couple had a flashpoint between 141°F and 200°F) and may delay as it must ship ground with the USPS shipping I paid.

Email gave me an option to pay an extra $21 for UPS ground and if I didn't respond within 24 hrs it would just ship USPS. I opted not to pay the extra $21 as I only ordered five 1oz samples.

On Nov 20, I emailed them and asked if it had shipped yet. They shipped it that very same day (7 days after I placed my order).

Today, Nov 26 and these 5 samples still haven't arrived. I'm assuming it's because it required an ORM-D? Again this is a first for me where an order I have placed with any FO company needed to provide this document with shipment.

Has anyone had this similar experience? And with Bittercreek?

If my sample order takes this long, I'm not sure I would want to order a larger supply of FOs if this is what my experience will be like. Don't want to speak negatively about any company, was just hoping for some insight from any Bittercreek customers.

Which Fragrances did you buy? I never had trouble with Bitter Creek. They have amazing oils.

  5. I just found out that Bitter Creek had their bigger sale on Friday. It wasn't posted on the message board but was posted on Facebook.I didn't see it posted on here I'm surprised nobody else knew about it either.Oh well we're all FO addicts  so we guess we don't need anymore anyway lol but their oils are amazing though. I wish I wouldn't have found out that they had that sale  because now none of us can get in on the deal.

Maybe they will have another sale soon hopefully.

  6. Bittercreek has amazing oils. Especially Coconut Bay and Creme Brulee.

Aztec is good to me but not the best. I won't order from there though because your card gets hacked from what I read. No oil is worth that happening.

"You are being given your answer and you now have to determine something else."  This one is pretty clear too. "Quentin, you idiot. You still don't get it?" [Imagine sitting in my chair when you read this one posted on a forum]

I think what she's trying to say is you're making it harder than it needs to be.I've had someone tell me that before and they were right I was making it harder then it really was. I don't think she was trying to be mean but if she was I'm sure she would apologize if she was able to. She cannot login to the site anymore she has been banned. Waiting for the software to get fixed so she can get back onto the site.

I do see where it appears that she was telling you you should know this but I try to look at the good in everyone. I have a habit of reading things as being mean  even though they are not. That is why I hate writing my thoughts because a lot of people think I am mean too when that is the last thing on my mind. It is good to ask questions but some people are private about giving every variable.I don't tell people my pour temperature because I don't even know what it is. But everybody's melter's heat differently so that wouldn't be fair to tell you that because it wouldn't work exactly the same for you.so maybe she was just saying just try it again until you get it to what you want to be. If the ban gets lifted she will be back on here soon. I haven't been doing this a very long time either so I ask a lot of questions.there is one member on here that I know was being mean to me because they were using caps a lot. So I called them out and now they don't bother me anymore lol you will get there just keep trying that's the secret to all of this. It is hard but it is worth it.

Conditions are always going to be something to consider, so, in that case, no answer given is going to be a true-for-everyone--every time remedy.  Yet, with some waxes that are not too particular, you may not have to do cartwheels in order to get them to perform to your liking.  In those cases, if someone knows a wax very well and has used it under varied conditions, most likely it's pretty safe for them to say that their experience tells them its not so finicky.  I don't think Scented Pleasurez was boasting about knowing everything about this wax, but clearly, she seems to feel from her experience that it was safe to say that it performs well under a wide range of conditions and she was trying to give advice regarding that point.

@TallTayl, I'd like to know if ScentedPleasurez wished to change her mind about posting here, could she?  I mean ... has she been banned from posting?  And, if so, may we know why?

I was wondering as well. She is really nice and tries to help out a lot. Tones are hard to tell in words. I don't think she meant anything mean. She gets along with everyone here.

  9. Since I'm still new  I'm still trying to figure things out. While you were waiting for regular paraffin wax to come in is it okay to use Gulf wax to make melts? I know it's not ideal but will it work?

I'm not sure why the 25-watt bulb didn't work for me either.  Weird!

I don't have any idea why it didn't.Everyone that has used mine it works great for them so far.maybe your light bulb is old sometimes you have to replace them even when they don't die out.

Serendipity is a must have... Coconut, vanilla, and cherry... It's THAT GOOD. (IIRC It's also a Just Scents original) I just ordered a pound of it the other day and it's slated to be delivered later today. (YAS!)

I also got death by chocolate... I haven't smelled it yet, but with all the RAVE reviews I'm SURE it's gonna be a winner!

    Cheers,

Serendipity from Just Scent is so amazing. I can't stop sniffing the bottle lol Totally Scrumptious is awesome too. I have several Just Scents that I bought cheap from destashes. I really love this company.

  12. I have a work around solution to the cups denting. Well I'm testing it out. Lol they burn perfectly in my 25 watt bulb burner and throw through the house. I wonder why yours didn't? I only sell in person and online. I don't have a store. The throw is phenomenal with the 4627. Customers are loving this.

  13. I make some soy wax melts but not candles. I hate soy but have a lot of it. So I have 2 formulas for it. One has Paraffin in it and the other doesn't. I have some melts that have taken 4 months to cure. Throws for 2 weeks with melter on all day. Just not worth the frustration of waiting. I am making some ahead for the soy fanatics lol but making g the mixed ones for the ones who don't mind some paraffin in it.

The easiest is net weight, making sure to always pour slightly above the stated weight.

Practice with some freeware photo photo editing software like Picasa or GIMP (a photoshop freeware knockoff). Practice with white balance so your pictures look consistent from one to the next. Once you figure out your style try to get all of your photos to look cohesive, like you would be able to tell they are yours at a glance.

is it okay to put a banner with my business name in the background of all my pictures or no?

That's what happens. The longer the sit the stronger they get in most cases.

The lids aren't a concern for me,I'm just wondering about rusting because there is no coating on them.  The blue is so pretty I want it to work lol.

I told u about the cotton ball thing. So I go look and it's something called little squirts or something like that and they squirt it on a cotton ball and put in a cup. They charge. $0.25 each 😂😂😂

Squirts are something u put in the trash can they say the fragrance last for hours.

Lol that's hilarious. I never heard of that.

They ( BC) have 2 blueberry muffins which one do you get

I have the one that is not original. I also have Blueberry Patch and it is great too. I got mine in a destash. Blueberry Cobbler from Aztec is outstanding. I don't buy directly from Aztec anymore but got that one in a destash.

    Is the Apple butter spicy?

I'm testing to see if I get rust. The lids aren't polypropylene they are pet. I just seen their ad on Amazon. Hopefully they don't cause issues for u after your hard work.

No it's not spicy. It's a dupe of Apple Butter Caramel BBW. I know the lid is PET but so are the lids on the plastic souffle cups. Only the cups are Polypro. I've had researched  before I bought it. It says since the lid doesn't touch it it won't affect it. I have melts from a long while back in plastic souffle cups that are stronger now than before.

The hearts would be really cute for scoops and the others would look super cute for bakery scoops especially since the way the lids are designed for them. You can really dress them up. I think a firmer wax would help.

    Now I'm wondering about rust.

I think that would be cute. It is just the people I sell to just want it cheap enough and work. I love cute stuff lol if I had a store I would. I hope they don't rust. I test daily and they haven't. I am on day 6 of Apple Butter. These last forever with 4627. I run my burner all day for about 8 hours. Then turn off.

@ShelleyF I got my samples in today of the containers. The blue is gorgeous.

I believe I might want to mix in a harder wax with 4627. The cups are flimsy. If shipping out I don't think they would survive especially in the summer. My lil cup was dented just from shipping to me. The 4 oz fits perfectly on the warmers that I tried today.  I also got the 8oz,4 inch and the heart. I thought the heart would be good for vday scoops.

I was expecting them to be a bit thicker tho

I wanted the heart ones but they were kind of high on the price. I didn't want them too thick because I wanted the heat to get through quickly. I don't have any dented ones. I think I will harden them up a little for summer. I can't believe what some sellers say on eBay and Etsy. Lol they say your melts might come melted. Don't worry it might look ugly but just put in the refrigerator and it will be fine lol No way. I'm not selling stuff like that.
