  1. I use to get a great one from Tri state candle supply, but I dont use soy, so i dont know how it would do.
  2. Tristate candles in W.Va? I've used a lot of there FO's before and never had a problem with them.

  7. Bittercreek south has one called "log cabin" thats manly, I sell a lot of Hawaiian breeze to men, and candlescience has a frankinsense and myrth(?) that my wife says reminds her of mens colonge.

  9. I dont know about Soy, but you said you were using J50, thats like apples and oranges, two differant things. Try one oz. per pound and you'll be pleased.
  10. I also agree, cut back to 1oz per pound. Even then you'll find some fragrances need to be cut back even more.
  11. If you paid .60 cents I'd say no, but seing as you paid .32 cents, yes you did get a good deal. I pay .45 cents for mine.
  12. Hey, I've had shows in the past where I would have been happy selling 8. Keep at it. Many times I got discourged and thought about quitting. I whent a year after we lost everything to a house fire, and missed it, could'nt wait till we rebuilt so I could start again. Thats been a year since we moved into our new house, I've done two shows this year and might of not got rich, but I did come out ahead, so stick with it.

  16. A friend of ours hosts horse a trail ride twice a year, so this year I thought about setting up and seeing how I would do. They do have other ventors selling differant items, as this ride is pretty big. The June ride had over 900 riders, but the weather was lousy this weekend so they only had 480 riders, but I went and set up around 4:00 sat. evening for 4 hours and made $98.00, and this is with no booth fee!
  17. i agree, the scents from candlescience is awesome and the customer service is great.
  18. Before the house fire, I had a room for my candles, now the new house is two story and the spare room is upstairs and I'm not carrying cases of wax up those stairs! So now I store most of my supplies under the stairs and use the kitchen to make my candles.
  19. I've always used pillar wax for the chunks and container wax for the overpour.
  20. In case you dont get it, the pioneers would use dried buffalo chips for there fire when they were crossing the prairie where there was no trees for firewood.
  21. I make mine a little different, I mix my wax and sawdust together till it's thick and then spoon it out. Ive used dixie cups, ketchup cups, even the volette molds (I only use pillar wax so it comes out ou the mold) Right now I have these molds http://www.pourette.com/product.asp?Product_Id=27817&d_Id=6984&l1=6984&l2= I usually give them out to our camping buddies that we camp with.

  23. 51-32-18Z is a zinc core wick and yes, you always get a mushroom with zinc wicks. Usually the worse is on the 1st burn.
