  1. The color was what I liked also. I used one Aquia dye chip per pound from candle science.
  2. Here's the 2nd pillar I've poured, was trying tp get a rustic look. Pics not the best.
  3. I know this sounds funny, but I found that toilet paper works better than paper towels.
  4. I always tell my wife to wait a day before she burns a candle that I made, and they have a good sent throw after one day. I use J50
  5. 1st one I've saw also, being a man who uses duc tape for everything, it was a sad day in my house.
  6. Yea, wife had the same tip AFTER the spill:)
  7. Ok, after making container candles for a few years, I've got hooked on making pillar candles, I LOVE IT. I have a mold that holds 2 pounds of wax and was looking for something to plug the wick hole with (could'nt find my putty) Thought to myself, self why not use duct tape? DO NOT DO IT! Two pounds of wax all over the counter and floor in the kitchen! Glad wife did'nt throw a fit, guess she lokes candles too much to get mad. BTW the metal tape works well, it has a higher heat rating.
  8. I had one from the moldmakinghandyman before the house fire, loved it.
  9. Been thinking about trying pie candles, this looks interesting.
  10. Tri state candle supply http://tristatecandlesupply.safeshopper.com/index.htm?543 HTH.
  11. At least to this site:p A little about me, I've made contaner candles for about 3 years till we had a house fire last April (NOT candle making related) so I quit making candles while we were in the rental house and now that we are back in our new house I'm starting over making candles. two things I've wanted to do in the past was make pillar candles and the pie candles, I had some slabs ofAstrolite f andAstroliteM38, so I got a mold and made my first pillar candles this past weekend:yay: I've been lurking here a couple of weeks and learned a lot from everyone. Thanks
