Has anyone ever purchased anything from Candleworks...They used to be in California and moved to Korea at the beginning of this year I believe...The fragrance prices are astronomical (but sound Fantastic)....although they were priced quite high while they were in the US...they are now super super high...Beautiful website with lovely items...oh by the way they also do not respond to emails (not sure why that is). Really just wonder if anyone ever dealt with them? https://www.candleworks.com/

if it was me, I would go with Trapps idea...personally I would be thrilled if I got a gift certificate....I know the giver always thinks it's a cop out ...but really it's the gift of a shopping spree and there probably isn't anything better than that

They don't give any details about where to get those bamboo canes at. The only thing I know of is fishing poles and these look a lot bigger than that? They don't give any hint about where to find them.
Hi Darbla ...I have seen them at garden centers (your best bet) and Asian import stores and if your city has a chinatown you will find them there as well

I can't choose I love all of them Trapp...but maybe the first one 😑 I would like to see one on a pink background ...especially if your candles are white....what do you think?

I love that story.!

there is definitely a spider in the first picture...but is anyone really surprised...skunks, cats, possums (what's the plural for possum?) ,dogs, horses...Trapp loves all her animals!....what it's not real?

I put a couple of garbage bags of empty fragrance plastic jugs in a cargo container that was sitting on our property....The cargo container smelled so bad...and so strong ...it made everyone sick....not to mention all the gardening tools chainsaws and leaf blowers that were stored in there all have a distinct candle smell....its been about 6 months since the fragrance bottles were removed and the cargo container still smells like I am storing a dozen old ladies in there....needless to say my candle business went down a few notches in my husbands eyes!...Don't know who would win in a battle of mothballs and fragrance?

Astorlite J50 is a good thrower! I don't know the new numbers since bought out by IGI. But it was really good when I tested it!
is it IGI 4636?

I say to He## with him ...you dodged a bullet Ubure and with that stress out of the way you can concentrate on more important things.
Now about his business....I have found over the years that customers are really not that good at recognizing a perfect candle (sorry customers your just not)...sadly only we are obsessed with melt pools ...wicks ..and temperatures of glass about to explode...because it is our business to do so. Sooo I suspect he may not go out of business as fast as we may like....lots of people could be convinced that its a great product...after all they paid 80.00....there are plenty of crappy candlemakers selling crappy candles and making a few bucks. If we could educate our customers ...hmmm ...maybey that's the route we need to take....just saying

Ha ha ha Sunday! Thanks.....You know how we all have disgusting photo's we hate of ourselves...me too. Everyone thinks I'm like in my 30's looking at this picture but not anymore...You don't want to know how old I am. lol I couldn't believe that when they did they picture all they did was put a cowboy hat on and a wig as I had my hair cut this past 1 1/2 years to a short hair cut but it's much longer now down to my shoulders now but it's the same color as in this picture.. I always had my hair this length as in picture but got tired of pushing it up under a ball cap and my hair has always been very fine and thin so I had it cut and it was so much easier to maintain. All else in the picture is the true me...even that day I actually did my makeup for the day. Maybe I "should" go buy a wig! ha ha ha. But it is a true picture of me. This picture is up to date.
Hahaha// it's that beautiful smile and those eyes and those cheekbones ....I'm pretty sure that's all you!!...all the rest is just window dressing anyways .

t's just a fact that some people are lazy and/or don't have any creative thoughts so they copy what they see. I always, at the very least, TRY to come up with another name. For example, I buy "Island Nectar" from Peek but I use the name "Island 40 Nectar" on my labels. It's sort of a local thing. I live just a hop, skip and jump from the Mississippi River. The section of the Mississippi River down south here is loaded with islands. So many islands, that most of them don't have names. They just number them on the river charts. Island 40 is a well known hunting area. I've never seen it. I can't even tell you exactly where it is! I've only heard of it. Even people who have never heard of Island 40 MIGHT have their interest piqued by that name. Some will. Some won't.
The people on this forum are a little smarter than the average dog. That's why you're baffled when you see the stuff you described. I see the same things you saw when I go in the shops around here. I always ask myself, "Self, can't they come up with anything else?" I always answer myself the same way, "No, they can't." All they can do is copy what they see and think that's the road to success. It doesn't mean they're not intelligent. They just aren't gifted with the creative mind for the type things we do. They may be talented in other ways and be able to do things I could never dream of doing. I can't play a musical instrument. I'm not good at any sport that requires good eye-hand coordination, so I ran track in school. Electronics is a mystery to me. I would love to be able to weld and I tried it. I just wasn't gifted in those things. Rub your finger across the lid on one of their jars and see how much dust is there. You've hit on a very important point. If we don't do something to set us apart from the others, no matter how small the detail, our products will sit beside theirs and collect just as much dust.
Quentin...I have to think that perhaps their skill is in business...like they say you don't always have to reinvent the wheel. Although I'm not a big fan of knock off products I think there is something to be said for this type of business. Aldi knocked of Jo Malones expensive candles.. labels are similar scents are spot on and prices are ridiculously low so they are flying off the shelves. I wouldn't mind if my candles were flying off the shelves...I'm gonna guess I'm just more artist than business woman...at least that's what I'm telling myself.

I have been looking around this site. I am not sure on prices but it is easier to navigate vs alibaba.
I agree they are simpler to navigate Karen...Good find! The minimum order size is quite high but it wouldn't hurt to get a quote on something.
How do you think the mercury glass containers would do...I wonder if that silver stuff would rub off inside and affect the wax?...or give off some hazardous fumes?
Or even the painted jars? are they safe? Perhaps someone here will know.

No I don't think they have them(at least I haven't found any)...and what they do have they charge considerably more than a US or Canadian company .
-
Hi Strugglebrother...yes I'm aware that alibaba does business on a much larger scale than ali express but that's why the prices are so much better I guess....Yes I have received endless quotes that I did not request and not a peep from the company that I wanted to hear from. I have experienced random price changes as well as quantity changes ...kinda disheartening....really have never had any problems with ali express....but alibaba is a pain in the a@@
-
Karen be careful with the free samples ...I had one that will send a free sample but will charge 30.00 for shipping...keep me posted on your progress 😊

OHHH My ...THAT IS A BEAUTY! What a lot of work!

Hi Kfintoni I sent a request for pricing etc to alibaba.... I Find that site a bit confusing and the communication is a bit difficult. I've ordered many items from Ali Express but have never used Alibaba. fingers crossed

Never mind the Chistmas tree pattern Jcandleattic..I really like it...it's kinda subliminally sexy 🙈
