  1. Interesting. The candles that always give me wet spots are those with paraffin even small percentage of 4627.

One of my goals was to make a candle without shrinkage, smooth top and afterburn, and obvi smells good.

This I have done with a blend of natural waxes. You shouldn’t have shrinkage with soy candles - you have to formulate so they don’t shrink in various conditions.

  2. You should write Flaming or call them and explain what’s going on with the fragrance and find out if they tested it. My age you have to cut the percentage of the fo. I don’t know this one is it strong? Maybe you don’t need a high percentage.

  3. I have found this as well with smoky fragrances. What you could do if this is happening blend it with something you know burns well in your wax - of course it has to smell good but it will help with these type of fragrances.

  4. Get the super super dawn and use it straight on the silicone mold. Wash with super hot water. Also di limolene is r early good at removing the waxy and greasy. Silicone tends to hold onto greasy stuff and shows up as white residue. It can be a big pain in the neck, but me like the ease.

i have various silicone molds and have not had an issue of smell transfer.

  5. I wick for quicker pool because consumers, the customers need great oompa loompa fragrance hitting their nostrils in a flash.

Many people light the candle for a little bit then put it out and then ruins the candle with tunneling for future burns.

i have some purchased candles. Bath and body works one that if it had a wick you wouldn’t know. Wouldn’t even burn. Useless threw it out. Have another one from Target, I have no idea how this even gets shipped. The wax is so soft, softer than 4627 with one wick in a large can and to be honest that thing will be a torchlight. So that is too extreme.

Middle ground is good to me. Not too fast, not too slow.

  6. Try formula above, whip and let sit and see how you like the texture. Too hard add more oil.

Just to warn you a lot of people have complaints the Shea get grainy - you will feel in the texture like tiny pebbles.

There is a lot written about trying to get rid of that and it can be a big pain.

if you do a body butter with water, like thick one such as body shop you will eliminate this problem, but it’s different technique and you have to preserve. But if you are up to learning, once you know how to make your own lotions and creams you won’t buy them anymore from the drugstore which are mainly mineral oil based.

  8. This is waterfree and you have to play with amounts to your liking. If you are looking for thick lotion body butter you have to formulate

with water, emulsifier, oils and butter and preservative. Just oil body butter you will not need preservative.

    Just oils

    80% Shea
    18% oil
    1% Vitamin E (optional)
    1% fragrance
