Yes C3 is harder wax than other soy waxes. Double wick if single isn’t working in those sizes but I haven’t had any issues with htp wicks working with the wax. Maybe you need to give it a longer burn. Also you could get CSN wicks and try those. 3.5 inch maybe pushing it with a 1312. Try double wicking. Most wicks are God’s for up to 3 inches above that diameter you have to double wick especially hard soy wax.

For your eyes and most body and beauty products a new container is preferable.if you really must use one that you can boil and sterilize.

Reusing droppers is not a good idea as these are very difficult to clean, and last thin you want is more bacteria for your eyes, and eye area.

Castor oil is very thick. You can dilute it with a light oil like fractionated coconut oil, or similar almond, apricot. Cosmetic grade is best for eye areas. I would dilute castor oil 60 other oil 40..

Best sanitary wash cloths are microfiber one that you can get on Amazon - cheap bundles of 50. Use your wash cloth once then wash.

These dry fast and are easy to clean. Much more sanitary than cloth ones. You can also purchase synthetic fiber wipes that won’t leave fuzzball all over your face, like cotton balls.

Lastly do not mix oils with eye drop solution and keep in a bottle. This would need a very specific preservative for the eye are! Not using a preservation system or the wrong one can land you in worse spot.

Having tested more wax blends. 4627 blends are way smokier, than 4630.

4627 is grey translucent, even mixed with soy it has a look.

I find WSP very expensive. Their cardamom fragrance oil for the price is very weak, but the price for it is very high.

I would try it but hate not knowing what the wax is, much like Flaming candle blends.

Same with other suppliers making up name for cosmetic ingredients. Makes me nuts.

Okay I modified my wax and lowered the temp. Was pouring a bit high for this wax.

I was surprised at hard this wax was and the suggested lower HTP wicks did not work for me, though I like a slightly faster burn as I don’t think people sit around and burn for two hours on the initial burn with candles. 

Also to me this wax burns slowly not quickly as I thought it would for paraffin. When I have used 4627, that burns fast and Smokey.

i have not had any ring around the collar with this wax. It burns clean for me.

Found a stash of 4630 wax and started to play around with it. Poured cooler less sinkholes, no adhesion. Poured hot 175 perfect adhesion sinkhole near wick. Is this a heat gun, two pour kind o wax? Also assuming it was paraffin and would burn faster than soy, the wax I have burn slower than the soy waxes I have been using. I’m using htp wicks and they burn fine. It’s the sinkholes that are annoying.

Any tips for this? 

This customer said she wants container candles. Like wholesale, or one or two? You cannot change your business for one customer.

You can suggest she buy beeswax candles which are about as natural as you can get. Paraffin has additives in blends so that could stir up a whole lot of hoo haw.

We all want to please all the people all the time, but you can’t. I would make suggestion about beeswax and thanks for considering you and move on.

I use a heat gun all the time for projects. It’s superior to a hairdryer. There are also reducing nozzles so you can be more accurate.

You can formulate a soy candle to have a smooth top. It can be done but you have to test.

i know you do not want to hear this but you can make perfectly smooth tops with soy wax when you get your pour temps down. Time equals money. Perfect the pouring save the time, make the money.

So interesting difference in physical size of the larger cd wicks versus the CSNs. The larger cds wicks are super thick, compared to csn.

have not tried regular cd wick yet but will be interested to see the difference in burn. Anyone try csn versus cd?

Simple cleansing oil. Oil plus percentage of polysorbate 80, 20. You might have to shake a little before use because of different weights of oils and solubilizer. 

Ok canned the 22. I like the 16. Still working on the wicking.

Got some CSNs and trying them. Question can you use pillar palm in containers and get a nice burning candle. I have the container blend.

Also if you give these candles to people, how do you adjust for the fact that people may not burn them long enough to get good diameter meltpool. Will this lead to tunneling with subsequent burns?

I am getting some of the larger CDS just to compare to CSN.

High flames with CSN, I trimmed shorter than soy wax wicks as the palm burn behavior is different and as result a larger flame especially in beginning.

Here’s an idea for tomorrow. As suggested check your recipe through soap calc, then instead of hot process do it cold process and pour to compare.

You should try regular cold process with your recipe. Easy to pour and soap will look nicer. High oleic sunflower oil is nice. Coconut oil is vegan by the way and makes great lather. Rice bran oil is great for soap. It’s really nice for the skin. Maybe try a go at plain cold process.

its easy to see when you should pour, it’s way more fluid than hot process and end result will look nice. I only hot process if I have made a flubbed soap.  Just my humble soapy opinion. You need something for bubbles traditionally coconut oil, palm kernel, castor oil. Recipes online. Brambleberry three oil soap recipe something like that.

You can have logos designed on Fiverr, and if you google logo design there is online software that you can use to create.

Also want to up your design skills? You can get Affinity which is cheap and just like photoshop, they also have a version of Illustrator

and have their own version of Indesign but it doesn’t open Indesign  just yet.

If you haven’t used Canva yet for design work, check it out. 

And seriously if this is what is holding you back it doesn’t cost your candle supplies to get a good design these days.

Put together a mood board of designs you like, color, and then write a story about what your candles are about. Use this info to work with a designer.

Also make sure your glass is super clean. I wash all my glass so it’s spotless inside before making candles.
