OMG Grumpy...that husband needs to steer clear when you're soaping! :lipsrseal That soap is just amazingly beautiful and I'm sure there is another award winner in your near future!!

You WERE busy! They all look lovely too.

I don't know what base you use, but I cannot imagine that it sat too long. Get out your samari (sp) sword! He-iii-ye! It'll cut!

At first, the smell was enough to gag a maggot,
LOL Janis...I'm going to remember that one!

Thank you ladies! Might as well give it a go! Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

What wax/additives are you using? That makes all the difference in the world.
-
Well, you can, kinda sorta but not really. It's a huge process from the tutorial I read once that someone posted on here.
I agree with the kinda sorta thought. Thats why I went from M&P to CP....I had to have that swril. This might be what Grumpy was talkin about

Are they as strong and concentrated as they claim? In other words, if you are using 1ounce to 1.5 ounces normally, per pound of wax, can you really use less than 1 ounce with THESE oils?
I've used one of WYW oils and yes it was very strong, and you can use less oil per lb of wax, BUT, to throw in a hitch....there are MANY suppliers out there that carry oils that throw well at lower percentages that don't cost nearly as much. The type of wax and wick you use will also determine how well a certain FO will throw at lower percentages. You can spend top dollar on fragrances, but if your wax & wick combo is incorrect you won't get diddly squat for throw.
Start with the basics before you start spending big $$ on Fo's! Get your starter kit and take it slow is my best advise! Good luck and welcome to CT

Thank you again gal's.

Peak's Asian Sandalwood? I've checked the "Scents that Rock in CP" thread, but it wasn't listed. Just curious if anyone knows how this does. Thx:D
-
I would like to try this. How would I transfer the percentages to ounces?
You would need to know the total of ounces that you want to make. Like this
Total batch=24 oz.
If an ingredient is 4% then you just get your handy dandy calculator and do 24 (total weight) X .04 and so on with the rest of your ingredients. HTH

We have orders we can't fill because we only want to put out a good product. Please pass on any information. We don't have money to throw into excessive trying of things. They are on a tight start up budget and have already spent almost $400.00 in supplies and sold nothing yet. so I am trying to help them out. What are we missing.
Thanks,
Tera
Experience and a quality product. Without that you will never have repeat customers.
Tess All I can really say is, Candlemaking is not a get rich quick, easy extra money making "project", ESPECIALLY for kids
Ditto that!

When I grow up I want to swirl like you! Also, I like the look of your labels....your style seems very original and is pleasing to the eye (nice & easy to read)

Peak's Midsummer Night is awsome.....good and strong and you can use less oil so it's a real money saver!
Edited to add....Yes it is a Drakkar dupe...
