  1. Thanks!! I decided to go with both and mix them together. Individually they both have great qualities, but I think mixed they will be amazing! It will be fun testing!! Plus the supplier is closer to me and there is a big saving on shipping!!
  2. Carrie, that is an EXCELLANT idea! I made up my mind to switch to Candlewic for wax, better quality and a lot cheaper shipping from PA to NY than OH to NY. I tried his samples and really liked them, I'm going to mix 129&141 together for tarts. I did try S&P in NY but I can't seem to get them to give me an actual shipping quote. I asked several times so I bigger supplier in upstate NY area would be AWESOME!!!
  3. Sure is!! We have quite a few NYer's here!!!!
  4. I mainly make tarts, I also make votives, tealights and pillars. I need opinions if CBL129 or CBL141 would be better. I had samples of both, I liked the 141 for tarts, didn't care for the way the pillar or votive burnerd. I used the whole sample of 129 for a jar which I loved the hot throw, burned awesome too! I've seen alot a of posts on using the 129 for tarts, but is it good for pillars/votives too?? I posted earlier about maybe mixing the two together?? I currently use JS Vot and the last couple cases the hot throw is getting fainter and not lasting as long with nothing changing in the recipe except opening a new case. Thank you!!!
  5. I'm in Churchville NY about 20 mins. from Rochester or 40 mins from Buffalo!!
  6. I really need some help/suggestions with a new tart wax. I use JS Vot for tarts, votives, t's and pillars. The last 2 cases I've bought I've noticed the hot throw has really dwindled! And customers are starting to notice too. Nothing in the recipes have changed, only thing different is new cases of wax and of course it's nothing different on their end cause I asked. I want something that has a longer hot throw for tarts (it's most of my business) and is easier to pop out of burners without sticking in the freezer. I know this is possible because I've gotten tarts from other sellers and when they have hardened in the burner they slide right out and I know they arn't using soy at all. Would a combo of CBL141 & 129 work or could someone give me some suggestions??? Thanks!!!
  7. No! It actually works out awesome because one person may order something that only costs 3.00 to ship but pays the flat rate of 6.50 and then the next person it could be 7.00. So it averages out that I'm always a little ahead of the game.
  8. I've been using Mal's for about a year, I like it, but I use a flat rate shipping because I really can't seem to figure out the correct values for multiple items. I use the voucher section a lot for sales too!
  9. Since I'm looking at switching wax co's (I currently use JS Vot), does anyone have any comments one this?? I need it for votives/pillars & tarts, mainly tarts. Looking for something that has great cold & hot throw and a good mold release. Also this may be a dumb question but can someone help me what I need to do to get a tart to release out of the burner when it's hardened. I've gotten other tarts from other makers and they don't have to be put in the freezer for a couple mins. to release. Thank you!!
  10. Thank you! I have done a few others for some fellow candle makers, it's fun!!! : )
  11. Thanks, I just looked at their site and will email them.
  12. I live in upstate between Buffalo & Rochester, I currently get my wax in OH but the shipping is just getting way too high.
  13. Depending on what you need, I may be able to help. I do my own HTML, I bought my template very cheap and did the rest of the work myself. My website is www.freewebs.com/theprimitivetartshop if you want to check it out. I used freewebs, and use Mal's for shopping cart.
  14. I want to sample some paraffins from suppliers in NY state. With Fedex and UPS prices going up, I'm paying almost the same for shipping as the cost of the wax. Does anyone have any suggestions/know of good suppliers in NY?
  15. Thanks, I'll do that!! Sorry if I put in the wrong spot!
  16. Looking for 16 oz ea. but will take less, thought I would check to see if anyone has any they need to get rid of before I purchase.
  17. I had to laugh when I read this! I belong to a candlegroup and most of the makers are soy users and grill me ALL THE TIME! It's like an obsession! Why don't you like soy, it's the BEST!? And I explain I don't like the finished look of it in my tarts, I don't like the feel of it, just a personal pref. and I really don't like the false advertising of it, I don't even like it in a 50/50 blend. But it's a never ending battle with them, they bring it up daily like they are trying to recruit people! I've burned paraffin candles for over 20 years and never have I had a soot issue in my home so I stick with what I like but I sure don't spend my day trying to convince people to switch over to either one! LOL!
  18. LOL! Thier head wouldn't fit in a flat rate!!
  19. Thank you! They are very much like big teddy bears. I fell in love with them years ago because they just have such amazing/unique personalities! They're so much fun, especially when you have a whole litter of pups!!
  20. I made the Pecan Pie yesterday and melted it today and it is FAB!
  21. Yup, sorry for some reason I forget the Aroma Haven part! LOL!
  22. My two think little dogs are sqeaky toys! LOL! Blizz is about 125, Mora is pushing close to 100, she's supposed to be about 85, but she's older and doesn't show anymore. Blizzard has Wakon in his blood, a giant Malamute bloodline, his daddy was was 155 pounds on a light day! LOL!
  23. I use Vicks Sinus relief from NG and it works great, I get a lot of orders for it too. I've melted down the vapo rub too into the wax and it worked great.
  24. I use several oils from them and love the ones I use. They are very strong, I have gotten some that arn't as strong but found the ones I did get are very true to their names but require in paraffin 1.4 oz to a lb of wax and then they have a strong throw. Creamsicle is my best seller and from them. Their Jolly Rancher scents are awesome too!
