  1. I have a rubber stamp that says in bold red letters "WAX DO NOT LEAVE IN THE SUN!", I stamp that right on the front of the box above the label that way the po usually will hold at the po or place in the shade. I've never had any complaints about melted candles in 7 years and I ship a lot to CA, TX.
  2. I know it has YC Green Grass in it. Smells almost exactly the same, a little sweeter.
  3. I use SOS Creamsicle and it kicks butt! Everyone loves it!
  4. Glad you're feeling better Becky! Take it easy and get some rest!
  5. I do that, I have a recipe sheet for every scent in a binder. I know how many drops to get the color I want, how much FO, etc. I use the same brand color dye, never change and I get almost exact matches every time.
  6. I've run into several people who don't like dyed candles, but they also expect those candles to be 100% soy. And honestly all these people have told me that soy is healthy, soot free and dyes are bad, blah, blah...... so there seems to be a market out there. When I visually see a white candle I automatically think: Unscented, Baby Powder, Wedding Day, Wedding Cake. I use a lot of liquid dye, easy to control colors and I stick to about 8 colors and thats it. I also make the statement, that colors may vary from batch to batch or from posted pictures.
  7. I sell a LOT of the NG Baby Powder especially to the UK. It smells just like Johnsons. I'm not a baby powder fan but this one at least doesn't give me a headache making it. It has a real strong throw too!
  8. Just some info/facts here on YC Patchouli, it is my all time favorite scent, it is not true about a wicking problem and thats why they don't make it. YC only makes certain scents at certain times of the year when mixing. Example Patchouli you will see around Sept- Nov because they use it to make Witches Brew and Wicked for Halloween, it is also sold in Witches Brew all year for the UK line in London. Or Black Licorice you will see at Halloween time if they will be using it for Mint Licorice for Xmas season. The sales people at the store, generally don't know about that info, they pick it up from other customers, etc. believe me, I sold their candles for 6 years and I always knew more about what was going on then the poor sales clerks, they are usually last too know! Patchouli is not in the regular line at all times because the fact is the main store is overwhelmed with requests to bring this scent back, they do and people run to the store and only buy like 1 jar or a few tarts and it ends up at the outlet. This info. came from a product engineer at the main store in MA. One thing that they do have a problem with on this scent is fading. The lights in their stores due a number on some of their colors. You can buy Patchouli votives almost all year in certain states at their stores and they generally add it to their regular line every couple of years for about 6 months. There is also 2 different scents under the Patchouli Housewarmer Label, the green is straight Patchouli, the brownish color is Pear mixed in the Patchouli (personally I don't like this one at all). Thank goodness I keep myself well stocked, ok, 1000 votives to chunk up for my warmers. (hmm, is that a little much??)Anyhoo, a real good patchouli that I've had no problems with wicking or otherwise is Patchouli Raspberry from Tradewinds. It's just real strong/incense type.
  9. I haven't tried but I use BCN Toasted Marshmallow and love it, it's a good seller!
  10. I use Ivory for cake stuff and for like Pie Crust, Fresh Baked Bread and lighter bakery stuff I just use one drop of liquid brown per lb. of wax. Comes out real well.
  11. You got it! I told Kathy it might take me a few weeks to come up with the dough to buy the 15 lbs. but I'll share, I don't need to be greedy! LOL! Now I will be able to burn some myself! I'd been holding off cause I knew I needed to order and was waiting for her to put the Funnel Cake back up to save on shipping. When I get it I'll post to let everyone know I have it!
  12. I love Becs! She's been so helpful and friendly! Get better soon!!
  13. I don't like florals or many fruits, so comforting to me is Sugar Milk, Sweet Potato Pie, Homespun sugar, Gingerbread, warm comfy baking type scents.
  14. I love thier Sweet Potato Pie, Spearmint, Gingerbread, Raspberry Zinger, OF Banana Pudding, Italian Biscotti, Ruby Red Grapefruit. Only ones I really didn't like was Lemon Pound Cake (way too light for me) and Cassada Cake (way too light and being Italian and having Cassada cakes hundreds of times, this isn't even close to one!)
  15. I just talked to ICS, if I can get a 15 lb. pre buy she will order. She has to order a min. of 25lbs. She retired it because it took over a year to sell what she had.
  16. I've been told sometimes if you ask she'll bring it back, so I plan on doing that today but my buying just a lb. or 2 at a time won't be of much help to her. If not I'll have to start buying samples, uugghh. Just loved the way that performed, nice and strong it's one of my favs to burn for myself.
  17. Me the ditz, just realised she retired Gourmet Caramel Corn too, another big seller for me. I understand they have a business to run, but geez I hope people don't think I'm unreliable because they get hooked on something and then it's gone!!
  18. Oh I saw that KY has Sweet n Creamy and the description is Sweet Condensed Milk, same as ICS Sugar Milk description. Anyone ever compared???
  19. Uugghh, everytime I get a good seller it gets retired! This is worse than Yankee Candle! Ticks a lot of customers off. I'm not that big so I can't afford to load up on one particular scent in large qty's! I think some suppliers called this Sweet Condensed Milk, I just can't seem to find that either.
  20. Does anyone know what other suppliers have this oil??? It's one of my top sellers, I was down to a couple pounds, figured I better order more and ICS retired it! UUGGHHH! Thats what I get for not paying attention!
  21. Well thats easy enough! LOL! Here I was thinking it was gonna be complicated! I love these message boards!!
  22. I've used JS Vot for tarts for over a year, it's one pour for tarts. I just switched to CBL129 and thats one pour too for tarts. I've never had to do a repour on a tart in a reg tart mold or clamshell.
  23. Thats what I was thinking, what do you use to whip, a whisk or mixer??
  24. I've been making tarts for a long time and burning them for about 15 years (back when they were "melters" in potpourri pots! LOL! Almost every tart I make lets off white smoke. It's the FO burning off. Doesn't matter what wax I use, doesn't matter if it's a tealight warmer, electric warmer, etc. I notice it more my FO co. than anything. Like NG I usually always have to use 1.4oz to 1 lb wax, so theres more smoking there. JS there is almost always smoking no matter how much FO you use. I rarely see it from ICS or Tradwinds or AH/RE and I see it on some of my SOS stuff. My friend only burns oils in oil burners and she has the same smoke nonstop as long as their is oil in them.
  25. I'd stick with that or Vanilla Sandlewood. I find with incense type scents people like to know straight up front whats mixed in with it.
