  1. Love the coloring and sounds like they smell yummy!
  2. Sadly this isn't as true as it used to be. Perhaps the grocery stores are trying to become more heart friendly around here, but now I can mainly only find vegetable shortening and vegetable oils, without meat shortening or lard The stores we have here in this town are Winn Dixie (a major), Publix (a major), and I luck out with both. Winn Dixie DOES have the lard in small amounts for the lb cubes, although buying the two last time cleaned them out *sigh* What I'm really looking for is the meat shortening. I used to be able to find the large pails (and smaller ones) of meat shortening I can only really find veggie shortening anymore unless I go to Walmart....and even then there selection here seems to be dwindling The super walmart doesn't have the Meat shortening Grand Value blend with tallow I want (that everyone else seems to be able to find - sigh). And they also dont have the large sizes everyone refers to either that saves money
  3. The only thing that sucks with this is that I have been using those containers from her in blue, with black caps. Now that I see these new products in an email, and see her site, there's no mentions of the containers she's been carrying Does this mean I am now out of options if my current containers sell well later? Ah well is the luck of B&B biz
  4. Anyone know of a good Mulberry FO? LOVE the one from brambleberry but with the price of the FO there and the forced ground FEDex shipping it's out of the budget to be a regular Seeking something similar if anyone knows of something
  5. Oh I know! And I have one of the worst noses of them all. I swear my sense of smell is way below average
  6. I love the Chai tea but didnt get it to hold well in the batch I used. Did HP with no water discount. Will try again and add a bit more, though, as it's an incredible scent. Haven't tried in candles yet or other bath and body. Have a dozen of her samplers and love almost all
  7. Well dangit...on that last note doesn't seem like such a good idea after all without proper wanring labels at least :/ May have to rethink this, thanks for the input everyone. Course...could make one just for me
  8. Thanks! I actually looked there but must have overlooked these :rolleyes2
  9. It was an idea lol. Have seen others doing them and thought I'd try it out.
  10. To me the Creme de la creme is just another coffee related scent and nothing above what I've smelled with other names and other suppliers. With Strawberry cheesecake, it is not a sweet scent in the least or overpowering, yet it's smellable and not bad.
  11. Anyone know where to buy the miniature bear key chains (plush)? I've seen them for large quantities but looking for a smaller amount to buy and try out. Thanks!
  12. Ive seen some people selling it on their websites and was wanting to try it in the future but wasn't sure, testing the waters. But if it molds within months, no way I know there's face jelly cleansers and such and never heard of issues with them. It could be the gelatin water mixture I suppose? Anyone thinking of solutions, etc?
  13. Food coloring for me as well, it doesnt fade in lotions (from my experience anyway)
  14. Have any of you tried a blender? There's a site on it and groups and I've heard it works very well. Obviously not an option for large batches, unless you wanted to divide the batches into several blenders :rolleyes2 I think I'm going to try this within the next month or so (Current blender leaks for some strange reason) Curious on experiences
  15. THis is also the greatest tip I could share. Not necessarily a huge money saver, but what a CONVENIENT nervous breakdown preventer. I melt small quantities of wax, butter, etc, that is almost melted through other means with a few small zaps in the microwave with the cups doubled so they dont seep. With HP soapmaking I melt the castor oil with the powdered dye in these cups. Same with coloring small bits of M&P when doing different colored soap effects. If I have a small amount leftover of wax, soap, or body butter of some kind, pour it back in the cup to harden and reuse - the paper just peels off! If you have small amounts of different MP soap colors - or even candle ones, in the cups, you can stack them inside each other for a great space saver as well. And...no clean up with these! I HATE cleaning wax and butters more than necessary Another, that I think has been mentioned, are the ice trays. I buy beeswax in the large chunks unfiltered and pure, and then melt and pour into these for easy pop out cubes. This way no guess measuring, then sawing, etc, etc.
  16. My rabbit Rusty started on fire years back I was sitting on the couch reading, the candle was on the table (had it on as then boyfriend at the time was sleeping and didnt want the light to disturb him) We raised house rabbits (You know, the litter trained uncaged happy ones ) Suddenly I see the damn rabbit on the table and its on fire! I frantically put it out with my coke....the strange thing is the thing just sat there with no reaction, no pain, no flinching, no hopping, etc. Charred its hair but I caught it fast I hope/think - although I'm strongly guessing God was on our side as well, as my reflects are rather slow for a human lol. The smell was horrid and woke my ex up, who says it smelled like Barbecued Fried Rusty :undecided And yes, scared me to death as I had that rabbit for 7 years by that point and it would have killed me if something happened to him. So, you never know, even if youre being cafeful. And dont ever listen to people say that animals are instinctively afraid of fire. Some of them are, but trust me - rabbits arent. I dont think it's because of their intelligence, I just dont think it's their instinct until they learn, much like human babies. Every damn time you have a cigarette or candle the rabbits would go right up to it to sniff it out, then recoil from the heat, but they didnt seem afraid of it. Same with dogs Ive had.
  17. No one mentioned Brambleberry. I know they havent always carried candle scents exclusively, but they're now in the game so I urge you to try them if you're ever curious for new stuff - or happen to be ordering something else from them at the time Really liked their Cucumber Melon, their Fudge Brownie is AMAZING, Cinnamon Bun is likely the one fragrance oil that's ever made my mouth literally water, and their Banana Nut Bread is very sweet. Same for Blueberry Muffin and Applie Pie...all I've had the chance to try so far though Save on Scents is good for some fragrancs and not for others. I havent used their stuff in candles, but only HP. Some of their fragrances are quite mild/weak and you would need to add a lot to get the effect :embarasse ... And of course you can't simply add all the FO you want to with a product. However, their Blooming Jasmine is WONDERFUL!! Finally I have found a Jasmine I love, and its cheap, and performs well! It's a mix and match bag, I say try the fragrances and if you like them, keep ordering, and just don't order the ones you didnt care for as much.
  18. I want the same jars. Not into containers as much as other people but I LOVE the apothacary with the black metal lids! Especially the ones with the little hangers - adorable. Hate paying much per jar though as I make much more than candles and need to keep cost down while not buying huge quantities at a time. I also live in Florida so let me know if you find a close supplier for these adn I'll do the same.
