  1. Hi all- I just tried to proceed with insurance through "insureon" and they came back and denied my application because I did not have 3 years of experience. Do you know if I join one of the guilds and purchase insurance through them if it will bypass this requirement? I do not like lying on forms like these, but I would hate to join a membership for the insurance and have it denied. Thanks all~!
  2. Thank you all! Seems like my next test will be the 8's & 10's and go from there. @Siren12
  3. @TallTayl haha, I was surprised too but its what the diagram suggested, so it is where I started! I have smaller wicks on order now stay tuned!
  4. Thank you all for your feedback! A lot to consider and take back to the drawing board It is great having unbiased feedback, because so far my mom (gotta love her) loves everything and anything I show her
  5. @Trappeur thank you for the feedback! Is there a reason you don't use eco wicks? I believe it was you who mentioned you used to work with C-3. I really like the eco wick in my 16oz jar, so I would prefer to stick with one brand just to prevent myself from completely going mad, ha!
  6. @moonshine @Moonstar thank you, as always!!! I have learned so much on this forum. I would be doomed without you all. I will post updates on the one I let cure w/ the large wick, and eventually on the size down wicks.
  7. @iansmommaya how depressing we now have to consider people can't read cursive! BUT, a very true consideration
  8. This was the one I did not let cure. I have the same pour that's cured 2 weeks to begin testing Saturday. This is c-3 wax w/ eco 16 wick. It did mushroom the entire burn, so the next pour I am going to try eco 14. Ive also read a lot of people like cd wicks in soy - thoughts? My scent load is 6% so doubtful it's that but it could be that this one didn't cure but 24 hrs. @moonshine
  9. Is this an appropriate amount of wax to be leftover at the end of a candle? The wick has ofificially died but I've seen where people say there shouldn't be wax left. If that's the case, what's going wrong here?
  10. Thanks! I'm waiting for all my new scents to come in and test so I'm overthinking everything else in the meantime ? Patience is not my virtue - maybe that's what candle making is supposed to bring into my life LOL
  11. Hi all- Ok here is the hanging tag I am liking. I know the font was/is a little hard to read, but its the only one that is giving me the organic earthy feel I am looking for. At least with the website listed at the bottom people have to figure it out (right?!). Thoughts?
  12. wow! I need to re test mine with a different wick maybe
  13. Yes, very interested to see your burn time. I only got 6-7ish hours out of mine

  15. LOL I always assumed over wicking was the issue - if it doesn't pose a safety concern or hint at some underlying problem, I might just carry on with what I have as everything else seems to be fine
  16. My scent load is at 6% in c-3 soy wax with eco wicks. I actually don't mind the mushrooming in itself (the candles still burn evenly, have a great melt pool, etc) I just worry that it means something is bad based on reading through threads? is it safe to sell candles like this? It actually illuminates the jar and looks lovely IMO
  17. No about 5 hours each time and I trim before each burn (trimming for me means pinching/breaking off the the top of the wick with my fingers) @kandlekrazy
  18. When is mushrooming considered to be a problem? Here are my 16oz & 8oz jars after burning 22ish hours - the 8oz mushroomed from the start, the 16oz just started. Beautiful burns otherwise...
  19. @Clear Black I honestly have no clue! I am a newbie, haha. From what @TallTayl said it doesn't look like it, though. What is the biggest source of mushrooming, friends?
  20. HA! You are so right on the lettering... I guess when you have the name ingrained in your head it pops right off the page.
  21. I have been playing around with the logo a bit -- thoughts?
  22. @jbradshaw if only there was a magical wicking system that worked for all LOL
