  1. Hmmm- thank you for the response! I tried my wax in a silicone chocolate candy mold and put it in the fridge for it to set quicker. They popped right out and seem to be holding shape in the jar? I just want to be sure I am not giving her something that will ruin her machine or will be unsafe. Thank you for the feedback!
  2. What does it mean when the wax is "too soft?" Why would that affect a wax melt? I have never done these before, but my friend wants me to make her some for her in one of my candle scents. I work with Nature C-3 wax 100% soy.... could I just use leftover wax from my candle pours and put it in a mold? Why or why not would this work? Thanks all!!!!
  3. Hi all- tried to dig through previous posts, but can't find exactly what I am looking for. My friend is asking for wax melts in one of the candle scents she is testing for me. I have never used wax melts/never thought to start testing wax melts for sale. I only use C3 soy wax.... are melts as easy as making excess wax for my candle pours and pouring them in a mold during the same pour as my candles (so same melting temp for the wax/fragrance added at same temp/poured at same temp). I feel like that sounds too easy & I must be missing something.......... I don't want to give her something that 1) is unsafe 2) will ruin her wax melter
  4. Ahhh yes! These are much cheaper than what I was finding. Thanks!
  5. What are your thoughts on warning labels? Custom with your business name & address or standard ones from suppliers such as lonestar? Custom ones seem expensive, but not sure if there is a legal reason you want to have your companies name & such on it.
  6. @Moonstar I am getting everything from lebermuth - I am just starting out so I figured I might as well try to get all my oils from the same spot so I can hit their $300 minimum - I definitely want to try either like a body mist or bath bombs next!
  7. Oh the bay rum I didn't care for either! It smells like men's cologne when I was thinking it would be slightly more tropical. Yes I order lavender separately and mix it with the rosemary myself, it's really good but I'm not a lavender person so you might have a different perception. Oh that sounds amazing! How do you make goat milk lotion? I don't think the lemon creme I ordered was skin safe
  8. I got my tags from jukeboxprints.com - I fell in love with the grommets! I thought I replied on the oils! Here again: coconut lemongrass: by far everyone's favorite - it is devine & has great throw. I don't personally even like coconut but it's what I have burning in my house right now. I mix mix equal parts lavender & rosemary mint: personal favorite. It is a perfect "spa" & fresh/cooling scent - great throw I mix equal parts mango & peach - husbands favorite. Good throw - feedback is it smells like cobbler. Great summer scent that I'm very happy with + both scents on their own could be used and be great coffee: awful - it smells like a skunk. I had to tone it down with vanilla and even still it's a bit bitter. I prefer lone stars coffee by far. I won't be ordering this one again. Tahitian vanilla - amazing and better as it cures. Great throw & doesnt have that fake vanilla smell IMO clean cotton - very strong scent / throws well / great for anyone who likes clean cotton. Very fresh lemon creme - it's ok. I LOVE the smell as an oil but it gets a little lost in the candle. It smells like lemon creme Girl Scout cookies - they assure me it's a candle fragrance but I wonder bc cold throw & hot throw aren't there once it gets in the wax ??‍♀️
  9. The coloring is easy to read in person- must be the image. Sorry you don't like the hand writing, but I actually love how it turned out. Definitely to each there own and that's why we can all create what we like and what we think will resonate with our customers
  10. Well I only have 8 scents and work with one wax so haha. I usually leave pour 1-2 oz more than I'll need in case I have to do a top layer to fill any imperfections - I guess I just wanted to be sure that reheating it like that and adding more wax wouldn't negatively affect anything but so far so good in my tests
  11. Well all I can say is I went for what I was drawn to ??‍♀️
  12. Hi all- I am finally building a nice stock of supplies (including a separate pour pot per scent). Question of the day... what does everyone do with the little bit of leftover wax at the end of your pour session? I usually have anywhere up to 2oz in the pour pot and have been leaving it in there, then stick the pot in my oven to reheat until fully melted and add new wax/FO to it. I kind wonder if there is a better option or if this is good, then great! Thanks!
  13. @TallTayl do you ever have issues pouring at such a low temp? Slushy would be well below 120... I tried pouring at such a cool temp once (tonight I want to try another batch) and the wax looked really weird on the side of the jar. It wasn't just a wet spot, but almost looks like the wax never melted in certain spots/looked flaky against the side of the jar which obviously wasn't the case. I have been now pouring at around 130ish which definitely helped with the sink holes, but in the same pour batch with all the same parameters 1/2 the jars will have massive wet spots when they cool and the other 1/2 look perfect. I know wet spots happen with wax, but I am very anal and would like to try and eliminate this as much as possible. Do you all ever have clients that comment on wet spots?
  14. I bought directly from them. I'm still in the 2 week wait, but their coconut lemongrass is to die for - all of my friends are already begging for them. I also orderedd lavender and am mixing with rosemary mint which smells like a spa. I got peach and mango and am mixing those (also great). Their coffee is not good - very strong and my husband said it smelled like a skunk --- I ended up mixing with Tahitian vanilla which made it OK. Lemon creme is delicious but a little faint so worrying about hot throw. Clean cotton is strong and fresh. So far I'm very very happy with them, so fingers crossed I get good hot throw (cold throw is on point right now) @Moonstar
  15. @Trappeur I heat the wax to 180 degrees, mix the fragrance in *USUALLY* at 6% and let cool until around 160 degrees then pour. I heat my jars in the oven on 200 for a few minutes to where I can still take them out of the oven by hand, but they are quite warm. I then pour at normal speed? I feel like if I pour too slow I end up jostling the wick and/or splattering wax all down the side of the jar (any tips on best pouring practice?). I pour in my kitchen, which is very small. It stays pretty warm in there when I have the oven running + I am in Florida, so its typically around 73 in my house A side question, once the jars set is it OK to keep them in a cooler space? I am letting them cure in our guest room closet, which at night stays around 69. On another note I received our presto pot and I almost took it to bed with me y'all - that thing is uh-maze-ing. I did notice I accidentally heated my wax all the way up to around 200 degrees when I was trying to figure out where to keep the temp knob. I brought it back down to 180 before I poured the scent - just wondering if over heating the wax at any point could affect something?
  16. I tried melting them down --- I put the jars in a double broiler, got the wax out, combined the melted wax with 16oz of fresh wax and re poured with fresh jars & wicks and they catered exactly as above.... could it be the scent??? @TallTayl I should have chunked them. It took me longer to do the above process then it would to start fresh. I have a small jar of leftover wax I'm going to poke holes as suggested, fill, and move on. Grrrrr
  17. Alright- so I poured a batch of delicious lebermeth lemon creme candles and made a big mistake. Instead of 1oz per candle I ended up using 4 oz for 3 candles (16oz each). I realized this after I poured, but thought what the heck I'll see what happens. They completely collapsed! Huge sink holes in the top. I don't want to throw out the wax and scent, so I'm wondering if I can heat the jars up to liquid and try to reset them OR if I can melt them down and add 16 more oz of wax and repour or will this mess up the scent / wax / etc. I've done about 13 tests with perfect pours & the FO % was the only changing factor so that has to be the issue
  18. I just ordered one. SO excited! Let me know if you figure out any helpful tips on yours for a newbie
  19. Hoping one of these works! Now testing eco 8 & 10 in the 8 & 4 oz jars
  20. @moonshine The cold throw was decadent but once lit I could only smell it if I was standing over the candle. I just ordered quite a few fragrances from lebermuth so hoping those give me something. Is there a way to test hot throw before waiting 2 weeks? I know that's optimal but if I test after let's say 5 days will it give me an idea if that fragrance will work?
  21. @moonshine yes. I thought about melting down the wax and putting it with the eco 8 - I'm really hoping this large wick is causing the problem
  22. I'm so sad ? The tester I let cure for 2 weeks has 0 hot throw
