  1. I think they are very pretty.   I quit getting glycerin rivers when I lowered my water amount/lye concentration.  I soap at 30-33% and still encourage gel but haven't had rivers since I started using less water.   I find the more liquid, the hotter the gel, the more likely to get rivers.

  2. As stated above, you're going to have to check out different suppliers and their stock of MP bases to see what's in them.  They do vary somewhat.   Also, you can't have any kind of soap without lye.  No such animal.

A couple suppliers to check are Wholesale Supplies Plus, Nature' Garden, Brambleberry.  There are others but I don't use much in the MP world.  Only for imbeds.

Cocoa Therapy was my fav until I tried Peaks Sea Salt & Cocoa Bean. Yowzer! Now that's a brilliant chocolate! Makes Cocoa Therapy smell cheap by comparison.

I also love WSP's Chili Pepper Toffee. Hmmmm..... maybe I found my match! Naw..... I still think a light cocoa note blended with a creamy butter salty finish would be the ticket. So the cocoa doesn't overwhelm you but the other notes are soft so you still get chocolate but a mellow creamy type.

Did you ever make one?   I'm gearing up to get my soaps made for the upcoming year and looking for some new scents to try.  I just ordered Lavender Marshmallow from Just Scent as it's the only candle scent from BBW that I fell in love with.   Going to give it a try in some soap and sugar scrub.    Also ordered Sea Salt & Citrus and Godiva Berry Truffle.   I get tired of making the same thing year after year.  I have some standards I have to keep but want to add some new too.

  4. I do what Barbara AL does in the oven sometimes.  I generally just cover them with either a lid or some cardboard then place 3-4 towels over the top and then put one of those   I always get full gel.  If it's cooler than usual, I'll put a heating pad under the molds.  I use wood molds with silicone liners.

  5. I don't make candles but soap/B&B.  I've used true lilac and it's a nice one.  Discolored my soap an orange/yellow.  Almost looked like DOS at first.   50 Shades I make and sell in soap and shave soap.  Good scent.  Not super strong like some men's scents.

  6. I'm kind of thinking their oils are diluted for skin use as well.  I have a problem with sites that don't give much information or even a scent description and only offer 1 size.   I personally would pass.  You could contact them and ask.

  7. If you have an empty glass bottle I would wash it out well with soap and water, let it dry upside down for a bit,  then I spray it with 91% Alcohol and let it evaporate.  I transfer FO's in plastic to glass bottles as they become empty.

  8. It's possible it's the FO. Hard to say sometimes what causes DOS.  I've only ever gotten it once in a lavender soap and once in a tea tree soap.  After doing some reading it seems that it can happen with both for some reason.

  9. What about a cranberry citrus, I don't make a lot of holiday scents in my soap as they just don't sell.  I have an apple cinnamon that was a pretty slow mover....I use a fairly high lard % in my slow moving recipe.  That's a hard call.  Love spell is a slow mover for sure....just rename it to something holiday?
