  1. I just did a show today for my job. What an awesome day I had. I made almost 4x's booth fee. :yay: Got alot of contacts to. You would think with me walking around blabbing about my candles all the time, people would know that I make them. So many people where surprised at what I do on what little free time I get. This is the best show that I have done in the 3 years that I have been selling. I have another show at a local high school in December, can't wait. Gotta start pouring some more jars and melts.

Hope everyone else has great luck at their shows this weekend.

  2. No, I don't think you are. She is using false advertising to try to sell her product and run others down at the same time. People who don't make candles don't know what goes into the wax, and for all they know if she says her candles are all natural, many will believe her. It's not saying that the public is stupid, but just not educated about candle making. What you are proposing is educating them, which is in their best interest as well as your own. I think it is a great idea. And I do the same with my candles. I have a soy blend, and then a 100% soy line. Customers deserve to know the truth. If they find out that you misled them, you likely have lost them forever.

Totally agree 100% with this. I was in the same situation as you Maggie, but unfortunately she was sitting right next to me. She would tell people that her candles were 100% all natural blah, blah, blah...then people would stop by my booth and ask how my candles are different and I would tell them the truth. So, it pi$$ed her off, but she is misleading the customers and hopefully won't be back with her untested candle wealth candles. Okay to get to the point, every chance that I get, I educate the consumer. There are too many fly by night people out there, trying to make a quick buck and not considering the safety of people.

Okay I will now come down from my soap box. Sorry.

  3. This is an idea that I have been kicking around for awhile, I know that from personal experiences as well as feedback from others that most people just don't like to attend parties. Main reason: time. I have been running an idea around with a few of my testers and family, about having BOUTIQUE parties. Okay, let me explain....basically you would set up your products just like a home party, craft show, etc. Then people can come in look around, sniff your candles and purchase and leave. You would still be there to answer questions, talk about your products and take orders, but people do not have to sit through games, and presentations. Most people now a days just don't have the time to sit around and just want to be able to see what you have to offer and buy and leave.

90% of the feedback I have gotten on this idea is positive. Maybe this is an avenue for you. I was going to start this next year, by inviting friends and family, co-workers and possible advertising in the local paper.

    Hopefully that makes sense. ;)

  4. Does anyone know where I can find a display case, box or whatever for the lip gloss/roll on perfume bottles? (the ones you can get from wholesalesupplesplus.) I swear i have looked everywhere, and I am sure that it is right in front of my face.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

  5. Not sure but by looking at pic I would maybe do a 3 wick candle. They might look bigger in the picture though.I also agree they are nice for $1.00.

I am going to test burn it tonight with the two wicks. Just off the top of my head....I think the bases are about 4-5 inches length wise and MAYBE 3 -4 inches width. I think. I will let you all know how it goes.

  6. Don't know if this has already been posted, but I found these cute little containers at Michaels today. They had these and some with like Halloween decor on it. They are really cute and were only $1.00. Not bad...I am going to try and double wick it and test burn it tomorrow.

  7. You can always make a label with you logo and stick it to you bag I have done that for years. You can even have them professional made but then just apply them to your bags.

Vicky that is an awesome idea. I never even thought of that. Thank you!!! And Michelle I will check out Nashville wraps also.

    Thanks Ladies

  8. My problem with the bigger size ones, is people don't want to pay the price for them, so that is why I make the 2 oz size.

Maybe I could just fill in the bottom of the cavitys, so I still have the rose shape, but it won't be so big. Thanks for the feedback. You were both very helpful.

  9. No I didn't even think of that. I will do that when I get home. So how many oz would be an average size for the bath bombs?

    Thanks again

Okay got it measured it works out to be 5 oz. Do you all think that is too big?

Thanks to anyone who answers...I really appreciate it.

  10. I make mine with the tablet maker, and they are 2 oz. each. Did you try pouring some water in one section to see how many oz. it was??

No I didn't even think of that. I will do that when I get home. So how many oz would be an average size for the bath bombs?

    Thanks again

  11. Gotta question. I bought this 6 cup Silicone Rose Muffin Pan. I want to know if making bath bombs in this would be suitable? Reason for my question. They seem like they would come out REALLY big. I'm not a home, so I had to look it up online to find the dimensions, but they are 11.00 x 7.00 x 1.50 (0.07 cu. ft). I really want to use this mold, but I know that it won't work for tarts (its just too big.) The picture I attached is a little deceiving (sp?) it is not as thin as it looks. I guess I just want to know what is an average size for a bath bomb?

    TIA
