Okay, so I finally took the plunge and got a CP soap kit and broke it open today. Had everything lined up and ready to go...at least I thought. When I was ready to pour into my mold I realized I didn't line it. So I remembered someone saying that you could use a trash bag. Then after I poured I remembered I didn't add scent. Oh well. At least I tried. Maybe next time.

I think it looks beautiful. I did not read through the whole thing, but it is really easy to get around and I love your pictures.

Beautiful. Favorite color and scent.

Absolutely beautiful. CONGRATS on the store!!!

That looks really awesome. Great job

Those are beautiful.

Those are really nice. Thanks for sharing.

I usually pour one fo/color at a time. Unless I am pouring for a show and have done inventory and realize I am out or almost out of a couple of scents and then, I pour multiple things. But to answer your question, usually one fo at a time.

Hello
I want to know if powder milk is the same thing that you buy in food stores or is it something different?
Thanks
Same thing:D

:yay: I am going too and I can't wait. This will be my first candle convention and from what I heard it is awesome. My husband and one of our friends is coming with us.
We went to the Mall of America for our Honeymoon, so we are excited to go back.

Alrightee - thanks for the help!
ETS I do have one more question, though (geez, I feel like such a newbie again lol) - I guess you did the drawing for the basket after everyone was gone? And then did you deliver it, or did the winner pick it up? Dumb question, I know, just trying to figure how I'm going to work things. Thanks again!
I offer to deliver the basket to them personally. Luckily the person that one sits next to me at work.

How do you know how much refreshment to have on hand - I assume for an open house you don't expect an rsvp? Or am I wrong? And I guess for open house vs. party, no door prizes? (getting ready to do one or the other, so this info is of interest to me)
I made something that was simple to make so if I ran out I could replenish it quickly or easily (for my DH). I had punch and coffee for drinks and I put out a meat and cheese tray. I did offer a Valentine gift basket as a door prize and had people sign up. I just printed out slips for their name, address, phone, and email. That way they get a chance to win the basket and I get another way to add people to my mailing list.

Ditto what Lindsay says. I just finished by first Open House this last weekend and I will definately be doing it again. I made more in 4 hours of my Open House then I do in 8 hours at a Fair. I had DH available to answer the door for me, but I also had a sign on the front door. Everyone knocked (except for my friends, they just walked right in). Like she said, make your home inviting and warm. Light a couple of your candles and relax. You will be just fine.

I think you'd have lots of choices now.
Madison Starr
Starr boulevard
Reach for a Starr
Wish Upon a Starr
Starr Anderson Co.
Starr-Light, Starr-Bright
Starr-Light, Starr-Bright immediately jumped into my head. I second that one.

Just saw this post. Have you tried Papermart?? Maybe they will have something you can use.

They actually sell shaker bottles. I know I have seen them, hopefully someone will jump in who knows.
Or, you could put them in a baggy and then in a tie tin bag with a label on front.
Okay, I am out of suggestions. :tiptoe:

I like that, Where did you find those bottles? If you dont mind tellling. TIA
I got the bottles from Wholesale Supplies

Looks nice from here. If you are going on a white bottle, could you print onto a clear label?
These bottles are clear, but I did think of a clear label, especially if I colored the lotion. I will have to try that later today.
Thanks everyone.

I did think of that. I would have to make it smaller or cut it off closer. Thanks for your feedback

I know what you mean I was shocked when I walked in the store and they had this stuff and that it was right in the front. Here is a pic of the fondue thing I got and the wax after melting. As you can see it worked all the wax melted.
I saw those and wondered if you could use them for warmers. Okay, I am going back to Target. My poor target card.:embarasse

Who sells them, besides Alabaster?
Oh I had no idea Alabaster sold them. They are cheaper on their site. But I don't think I will be going with them...if you really want to know who sells them I can get you the name when I get home from work.
TIA

You might also want to consider sending brochures out to Wedding Planners, flower shops, wedding gown shops....etc. Any place that you would think a bride might be. Definately check out the wedding shows. I know that where I live they have like 3 a year.
Good luck to you
