  2. You, a kidney, me, a liver. Maybe we'll be in the same hospital room.
  3. I was "obsessed" for the first year and then it settled down a lot. I realized making container candles was more for me than anything else. I like making FUNKY looking candles and I never could make a pillar look right. Then I obsessed about scents. When I realized I didn't really like half of what I had I decided to make my own scent blends and then got more chaotic. Now...whenever I see a cool soap in a new scent I have to have it and then test it in everything I make. I'm not sure there is hope for me, you or anyone.
  4. I don't see where practice is necessary at all. These are stunning. It would make anyone happy to have one for sure.
  5. If you find a recipe that you have everything BUT a specific butter just sub it for the Shea that you have. You can take straight Shea butter whip it alone. Add a little dry flo to help with the slip and a little vit e and scent and you've got yourself a great butter. I like to use several different butters of equal amounts and then use about 1/4 of that total amount as an oil. You will find it to be a super easy and very rewarding product. Good luck.
  6. Not exactly. It's sort of like a clump of frozen GM at first and then it all melts down and turns an icky rust color on top and then settles down as you mix. You MUST mix mix mix so it stays incorporated or the yogurt will do what coconut milk does and seperate. More often than not I have no issues with it. It is a nice THICK cream like stuff. I'll make a batch of soap with yogurt in it and take pics as I go...when I get a chance that is. Maybe I can do it tomorrow. Someone email me and remind me and I'll do it.
  7. Yes ma'am. I plop my yogurt right in my pyrex container and then add my lye and mix mix mix. Works great for me.
  8. I don't think so. I use full yogurt and have never frozen it. I kinda like the light tan color it gives the soap. I did freeze my cucumber puree and I didn't see a difference in it. The odor was still there and I didn't see where freezing it helped at all. SO... wether it's coconut milk, yogurt, GM or whatever "I" lean towards NOT freezing it as I myself do not notice a difference. Give it a shot if you haven't already.
  9. I use yogurt often in my soaps. I sub all of the water for yogurt and have had vert few issues. The issues I have had have been because of my using a new scent and not knowing how to handle it. Here is a pic of my sea salt soaps. The soap in the front is made with distilled warer. The soap in the back is made with 100% of the liquid being yogurt.
  10. You should just stop now. They're stunning and if you don't like them you can send them to me. I think they are great like they are. :highfive:
  11. OK I downloaded and then bought the cream soap calc. Kat's pretty cool too. I woke her up (oooooops) this morning. Anyways..I see Bekka has added a preservative AND Rita adds a preservative. Why is this necessary?
  12. OK Bunny. This Bunnie is going to take YOUR recipe minus the additives and do it the "normal" way and then cook it and let it set for 24 hours. This is what Rita at TLC Soaps offers and I kinda like it. http://www.tlcsoaps.com/creamsoap.htm I will try this and see how it works for me. I'll get pics when I can and show them off for critiquing.
  13. So I paid MORE in shipping for NOTHING!!!! UG...Don't tell me that Bunny. Maybe I can tweak my brain to "just not get it" so I can make the book a reasonable purchase. :tiptoe:
  14. Me either. I've been Bunnie for over 12 years now. My DH calls me Bunnie. This is why my biz is Bunnie's Workshop.
  15. GOOD to know. With my life drama today I don't think I will be able to get to this until this weekend SO by then I will have the book and MORE of these posts here to refer to. Thank you so much.
  16. BUNNY...I am JUST as impatient so I am going to make yours first as a test batch and then work on my OWN for the swap. Got my stick blender and Kitchen Aid standing by waiting. I have the coolest bottles for this IF I can make it work right.
  17. Cool. I have joined and am waiting approval. I've generated my own recipe from Snow Drift and I will take this under advisement.
  18. HAs anyone ever made a cream soap that will work in a lotion bottle with a disc cap or pump? I do not like using jars for anything but body butters.
  19. Swaps are AWFUL. They are TOTALLY ADDICTING! I'm seriously considering signing up for the "new product" swap. Like I NEED one more swap.
  20. Thanks guys. The labels were SO easy to make too.
  21. Thanks ma'am. I'm hoping to unmold the wild berries tomorrow. Not sure though. I'm gonna do a Love Spell batch for an expectant friend in a bit.
  22. Well thank you. Actually I make all my own labels. These, amazingly enough, are printed on regular printer paper. My trick to "waterproof" and "professional" labels is TAPE. I've figured out how to make it virtually seemless and everyone thinks they are professionally done.
  23. Wild Berry Zinger made today for an upcoming swap. Shower Gel, Lotion and lip balm made for swap Weekend With Eduardo "spa swap" stuff
  24. If you do the following recipe you will get these numbers on soap calc 44 24 51 29 24 59 150 7% Babassu 15% Castor oil change to 5% 10% Coconut change to 15% 3% Emu oil 10% Lard to 15% 5% Mango Butter 20% Olive oil 15% Palm Kernel 15% Soybean I would make this bar if it were me.
