  1. A) Thank you all so much Salt bars are my absolute favorite to make C) Beer is supposed to add huge amounts of bubbles to the soap D) IF I have any left I will do my best to take a pic. Thanks ladies.
  2. First batch was too soft due to the salts I used. SO I shredded it and added it to a new unscented batch and colored with marmalade select shades. This is White Ginger & Amber. ============================== Mint Energy EO blend...Colored with parsley.. ============================================== My newest baby. This is a salt bar with BEER and SUGAR. It doesn't lather as well as the WG&A BUT it makes the skin feel GNARLY!!!! I'm so HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPY! :D
  3. I LOOOOOOOOOVE salt bars!!!! Aren't they FUN!?!?! :highfive:
  4. I want to make another batch of salt soap but this time add sugar and beer.
  5. Being one who makes candles like this all the time I must tell you I think these are flippin' cool. I love them. :highfive: Are they considered a set? They look GREAT!
  6. 40 oz does well forthis mold. 48 fills it totally full. Rita and Max rock. You'll love it. Let me know how it goes.
  7. I use either the wick stickums or a drop of super glue on the bottom of the wick and then when I see the wick is centered up I put 2 clothespins together and use them to hold the wick in place. You could do this without anything sticky.. If your container is small enough you can get away with putting the wick through the hole of one clothespin like I did here.
  8. You guys are so very sweet. Thank you so much. These are the kinds fo candles I love making. I don't plan on making one for the mil because she would not appreciate the time and energy I put into making it. BUT...my mom...absolutely.
  9. Absolutely stunning. :highfive:
  10. I have a 9 bar Kelsei and I adore it as much as the molds my dad makes. I line the bottom of it with freezer paper when I use it and have zero problems. The only issue I have is the bar size itself. I like bigger bars. Max and Rita are great people.
  11. I have a Kelsei and LOVE Rita to pieces but I use the molds my dad makes.
  12. Thank you ladies...You guys make me feel special. They did like them too. The mil was put on the spot so she had no choice but to like it. I gave it to her after I gave my mom her candles while EVERYONE was right there. She said she was almost out of body wash and soaps and this was much appreciated. Hmmmmmm....
  13. Thank you guys! Actually it didn't take that long to make. I've frequently made candles like this and I have had no problem with the wicks and the neck size. This IS as small as I will go though. She loved all of them actually. She is a candle junkie and had to show them off to her sisters today.
  14. OK....I also made a gift bag for my mil. Not sure why but I did... This was not a throw it together type of thing either. The picture is blurry BUT we have a Tangerine body wash (from scratch), Apricot Peaches & Pears body spray (from scratch), Cucumber Melon lip balms, my gnarly sea kelp soap, Kiwi Sunsweet (Tony's), Cafe Mocha Mint (custom blend) and Love Spell. I spent a lot of time on this one and she SO WON'T appreciate it. Not sure why I bother. THEN...I took some of my shampoo that I had and split it up. I had a Berry Blast shampoo and a Warm Vanilla Sugar batch. I took 3 of each and paired them with a bar of my Sandalwood Monoi that I made a couple of weeks ago and added a cucumber melon lip balm to it. This will go to all of the moms in our extended family. I got a box ready for a friend in Canada. I love her... she had me send the box to Seattle so I would not have to fill out the flippin' customs form. She bought 8 soaps. A nice little excuse to buy 5# of coffee from Starbucks. I got one of the many swap boxes out the door too. This one I decided to make the berry blast shampoo and a lotion with orange peel wax. Yummy. After all of this it is 1:10 AM and I am tired. Hope you have a good weekend.
  15. I will have to split this up so I hope you can follow. Since my mom loves my candles I decided to make her some for Mom's Day. This one is all custom. On the bottom we have a blend of Ocean Mist, Eucalyptus, Tangerine and Baby Powder. It really does smell nice. Then we have Yuzu and Baby Powder, Country Clothesline, Summer Sorbet, and finally Soiced Apples & Peaches on top. I made her a single one with the Ocean blend and then another one with Creamy Coconut and Moonlight Path. She loves those. Now...I'll go over to the B&B gallery and explain the rest......
  16. DO it! I'm making a new batch this weekend. I LOVE it!
  17. I don't know guys....I use Soy and I LOVE Florida Soy Solutions. She's an angel too..... http://www.floridasoysolutions.com/Fragrances_A-C.htm
  18. Thank you ladies. This batch has inspired me to do another. I was involved in a conversation on a Yahoo group about adding lotion to soap and one said she noticed no difference at all. This batch is a rather small one but I definitely noticed the difference. I made (from scratch like always) a lotion a couple of weeks ago and added orange peel wax to it. I LOVE it. You need the tiniest little bit and it soaks in like butter. I added an ounce of THIS lotion to this first batch AFTER the whip. It was stunning. The meringue I ended up with after the whip was out of this world for sure. When I added the kelp, lotion and scent...BAM.. it flopped on me. I won't whip the next batch but you bet your fanny I will be adding the lotion and kelp powder. I'll save the scent for the overpour batch. :yay:
  19. Well thank you! I like natural soaps but I'm hoping the batch I make this weekend will turn out a little different. As for the "aroma" OMG! They say to use 1 to 3%. I used 2.5 and I believe I could have used 0.5% and it STILL been strong. WOW! It DOES smell much better in this batch though. I'm glad I shredded it and added it to an unscented batch. Next one will be a little different and hopefully with HUGELY different results!
  20. Why thank you. It really wasn't a lot of work. To me it's no different than shredding the ends of a log mold or the scraps from trimming. I LOVE this bar too. A little less than "pretty" but it works VERY well.
