  1. I made a prayer box necklace about a month ago for a Christian friend of mine. Instead of writing on a piece of paper and trying to fit that into the box, i did something else. I sent along a small packet of beads in assorted colors (each color means something different) and then every morning, she is supposed to put whatever color of bead in the box that correlates with her mood or whatever.

Also, I got this particular prayer box at Walmart because I needed it fast!

  2. Ok, my sis has a "Taco Bell" dog. She is always dressing it up, and wanted a sparkly collar for a special occasions. Dont ask me why her dog needs a "special occasion" collar! But, here it is. Multi-color Swarovski crystals; I still cant believe how much she spent on Swarovski crystals for her dog!

  3. jldorrington,

Thank you so much for posting the pics! I might do a second necklace similar to one of yours, and another necklace using the wire wigjig.

    Blazerina,

Good idea about adding an adjustable chain; it will work perfectly with one of the designs Im leaning towards doing!

    Bubblebath,

I love that "crochet" look! Is there a pattern for it on the FMG website? Dont think I could attempt that w/o directions!

  4. Wow guys, I cant thank you enough! GREAT ideas! I did start a design last night out of a wire work book, but Im not really liking it now that Ive gotten most of it put together. The design is called Angel Wings and its made almost completely out of wire. My problem Im having is trying to NOT buy any more beads, and use what I already have. Unfortunately, I dont have a big selection of black beads. I did have a teardrop-shaped aqua pendant that Im trying to use, because I have smaller aqua teardrops I can use along with the pendant. I though the aqua and silver wire would be a cool look. But, Its not turning out how I wanted.

    jldorrington,

Would you mind posting the pics of the stuff you have? Thank you!

Another idea I had is: do you remember those flower Swarovski Crystal bookmarks I did a few weeks ago? I have a choker started with the white flower beads (not the pink ones), and using just black round beads. Im wondering if this might work? I can post a pic if you want.

Also, my sis in law is pretty skinny, and she reminded me the other day that she has a really small neck, so Im not even sure how many inches I should make this! Maybe 12"to 14"?

  5. Hi!

Im going to CO next week to visit family, and Im wanting to make a choker necklace for my sis in law. She doesnt really have favorite colors; not a pink girl. She does like purple, green, and blue though. She is kind of a rocker-chick type. I want to something cool for her (she's 23 years old), but I lost my jewelry-making "mojo", and Im drawing a blank on a cool design for her. Maybe something with the wire designs Ive been posting pics of lately? Anybody have any ideas? Im open to anything/everything. I only this weekend to make it as Im leaving on Tuesday.

    Thanks in advance,

    Linaya

  6. Fern Marie,

Ava is doing so much better lately; the eczema is completely gone. Thanks to some stuff that Sandissoap sent me. She actually isnt that big; 18 months old, and she is barely 20 pounds. She still wears size 6-9 months clothes, but she is getting taller. Which means that stuff is either too big around the waist, or too short in length!!!

Im wearing the necklace right now with a long-sleeve gray t shirt and jeans, and it looks really cute!

  7. Hibiscus,

Ive messed around with wire-wrapping synthetic gemstone beads; turned out pretty good too! Ive done tons of chandelier earrings; my sis loves them! Those are really easy to make.

Thanks for the compliments, guys! Linaya

  8. Last nights project: when I started it, I wanted to make a casual necklace to wear with jeans. It may have turned out a WEE bit fancy for that. My fiancee likes it, and he hardly ever likes anything I make!

    What do you guys think?

  9. Ok, I usually use Swarovski crystal beads, but I went to our local swap meet yesterday, and got 10 packs of Austrian crystals for a STEAL!!! Too bad it wasnt this guys regular price (I got them 50% off), or I'd go every weekend to stock up! I have used Austrian crystals for projects years ago, and I think they are just as nice-looking as the Swarovski. I also got this watch face off of Etsy for only $2!!! For all you jewelry-makers, look at Etsy for supplies. Not a huge assortment, but I got 3 watch faces (pink, lavendar, and green) for only a total of $16 ( that includes shipping!). Im not usually a fan of green, but my daughters birthstone is a Peridot, and this color caught my eye. I used a magnetic clasp that is perfect for bracelets!
