  1. When blending, my favorite straight coffee FO is Just Scent's Starbucks Roasted Coffee.
  2. Heating the tops with a heat gun before repouring should help.
  3. Thought about trying this blend but wanted to see if any of you have tried it out. If so, any thoughts/recommendations?
  4. I ordered some to use for melts and was wondering what fragrance load you use? Also... have any tips for this wax? I've never tried it before. Thanks in advance!
  5. As for the fragrance load, I've been using 12%.
  6. I started making tarts in April.. been testing ever since. EcoSoya PB is the wax I originally chose after doing some research and I've been using it since. Only lately, I've decided to branch out and test other waxes. In my opinion, it only makes mediocre tarts. That's just my opinion and with my experience. It just doesn't work that well for me. Cold throw is nice.. really nice. Hot throw is blah. Not long lasting and usually not even strong to begin with. I've tested it with over 100 different fragrance oils and only had ONE batch that threw like a champ. That one fragrance oil made tarts that lasted for 2+ days. Like I said, it's only my opinion. I don't want to offend anyone who uses this as their primary wax.
  7. Thanks ChrisR and TallTayl! I think the blanks seem to be what I had in mind. How did you customize them? I read that you can draw on them with a marker or use a stamp (sounds better IMO) but would the fragrance make the ink bleed?
  8. Thanks so much Belinda! I've got some researching to do lol
  9. I had someone ask me if I could eventually make car air fresheners. She sent me a picture of one she bought from a local vendor and it kinda looked just like some type of thick felt or leathery material. Has anyone made car air fresheners before? Was wondering if anyone had any tips on how they make them! TIA!
  10. Oh I will! I have orders coming in from Fragrance Buddy and Candle Source this week too. So I'll have lots of scents to sniff! lol
  11. Just placed my order. I ended up getting 25 sample bottles. I got quite a few on your list! Thanks so much, Belinda!
  12. I'm ordering fragrance samples from Just Scent.. I've got a list of some I've been dying to try. Anyone know of any tried and true scents from Just Scent? Looking for good, strong scents in Soy & Parasoy. Thanks in advance!
  13. Since I started my testing process for tarts, I've kinda avoided lavender.. I haaaate the smell of lavender. I do know it's a decently popular scent, so I bit the bullet and ordered a sample from Lone Star Candle Supply. It was just called Lavender. I made a test batch in EcoSoya PB about a week ago and WOAH. It is a really in-your-face kinda lavender. I thought it would be sweeter by the sound of the reviews but I think it's more of a real lavender scent.
  14. Just placed orders with Candle Source and Fragrance Buddy! Thanks so much for the suggestions!
  15. So I was going to place an order on Candle Source and after entering my card info, it brought me all the way to "Pay Now" without telling me what shipping is? Is this normal? lol Edit: Nevermind, theirs is just a little confusing! lol
  16. I probably should have included this in my original post... I will be testing these in soy and a parasoy blend.
  17. Does anyone know of a Cinnamon Bun/Cinnamon Roll fragrance oil that has a "baked" cinnamon scent instead of a harsh cinnamon? Also, I love watching youtube videos of wax reviews and I've noticed some people talk about a "creamy" zucchini bread scent. Currently, I'm working with Nature's Garden's zucchini bread fragrance oil and it's more spicy to me.. it doesn't smell creamy in any way. Don't get me wrong.. I looove my zucchini bread from NG but I'd like to try a "creamy" version. Does anyone know of a supplier that has one?
  18. Awesome.. thanks so much! Reading it now.
  19. Maybe I should try that, TallTayl.. I've never heard of that before. I've done fragrance testing in tiny 4oz batches of wax. Thanks!
  20. I've ordered the majority of my fragrance oils from Nature's Garden and Lonestar Candle Supply. A lot of the fragrance oils I've tested seem to be good. I've only had a small handful of duds. I've tested them in a room with the fan/ac off and the throw wasn't impressive. I don't really compare them to any other melts.. just my opinion. My testers haven't been wowed yet so I guess that's what I'm aiming for.
  21. Thanks so much for all your help, everyone! I really appreciate it! I'm going to order some samples of different waxes. I've read through posts, like OldGlory suggested, and found some waxes that people have said work well. I do have a Glade warmer and I have another hotplate warmer that I think a lot of vendors sell along with their waxes (it looks the same to me although I purchased it at Magic Mart). With my tealight warmer, I can only get good results when the warmer is placed in a spot with absolutely no air circulation or fan of any kind. I know things like fans and air conditioning can alter the scent throw... but I will continue using it to test as well. I think I'll get another bulb warmer just to see. I have done a lot of research.. I love learning about waxes and melts and all that so it's helping. Thanks again for all your help!
  22. Thanks for the welcome! I have two testers that use the wax melts I make (these are just kinda "recreational" wax users I'd say. I'm toying with the idea of finding a tester who's a die-hard melter).. they are usually pretty happy with the results but they aren't too familiar with vendor wax. Both usually use store bought and yankee. I'd really just like a stronger hot throw that lasts longer than 4-ish hours. I don't really have anything to compare the throws to. I guess just what I consider strong. 12% is the highest fragrance load I have used. I've also experimented with 10% and 8%. I have two hotplate warmers and a tealight warmer. I recently got rid of my bulb warmer.. I really am not a fan of them. I appreciate your help!
