try to keep the heat centered.
How do you do that? Just keep turning it?

Learning lots here.

You did good and very good for forgetting a few things. I'm on the "love the color" bus too.
And I see you just have a couple of posts so Welcome!

I have a couple flat, sq magnets They do work - just place them over the wick hole....
Do you tape over the magnet after it's applied?
-
I was just looking at some rustics in the store today and your's have them beat by miles and miles. Nice bag too.
-
I went from using wick screws to the metal tape after reading someones tip on the forum about it. I'm a much happier camper now. I haven't heard about magnets and I'm not sure I get how that is supposed to work.

This is abbreviated for what?

For those who said that my first problem was lighting the candle before it had time to cure: I still have not lit the candles yet. I'm not sure what made you think I did?
I think someone jumped the gun there (with their reply/answer to your post). I didn't read (in your posts) that you had already burned/lit your creation. :smiley2:
Like Beth said, just start over and make notes as you go along. If you saw the notes that I make you would scream and run for cover. Heck, sometimes they make me scream and run for cover.
Perhaps Santa might bring you a scale for Christmas. santa wink
FWIW, I never had good luck with glue dots. They ended up p!$$ing me off (almost) every time.
Oh, and welcome to the board.

Used SFIC base
What is SFIC? Sounds like some kind of insurance. (scratching head and blinking eyes)

Now I'm hungry

Just finished these up for Xmas presents.
Slide me a beer down the bar pardner!

Was finally able to get a mold made, been wanting it for quite some time. They are about 6" tall.
Ok, that is it!! Now I have to hate you cause they look so darn good! santa big

I have that same burner and I wonder if there might be a problem with yours? Mine does not smoke at all and as a matter of fact, I could put my finger in the wax and not get burned.

Looking good CandleRon
and nice labels lsbennis.

Without my second cup of tea I can't think of a solution just yet.
I needed that this morning.

He is a cute little feller. I've never made them and admire those that give'er a go. Good luck with your bear family.

Yeppers, I better quit being stingy with the hugging business. You guys are very funny.

I don't think I ever did try Greenleaf's F/O's but used some of their wax which is what I was looking for. I had no idea that they had changed hands so many times. Times have (and still are) been tough....
Thanks all for the replies and bringing my back from the ice age. Much appreciated

Thanks for the link Beth.
I think I jumped the gun a little. I did a web search that turned up an old thread (to this forum) saying that they went out of business and JBN took them over if I read it right. Jeepers I need to catch up!
-
Where did they go? I couldn't find their web addy
I did a quick search here and couldn't find out what happened to them. They must have went out of business?
Sorry but I've been out of the loop for a while and feel like I'm light years behind sometimes.

I thought I should "show off" my first paraffin wax pillar.
Do you see his resemblance? Can you guess what it might be? :rolleyes2
It's ok, you can point and laugh if you want. I can take it since I put on my big girls pants this morning.
-
I would say, try it and see what happens. Just do a small batch first and you can tweak it from there if you aren't happy with the results. You should be able to do a search on "melts" and/or "tarts" to find the other info you are looking for.
Good luck.

I'm starting to not like you very much KrazeKelly. I can see now that I'm going to have to order myself some of that wax thanks to you.
(beautiful job on these but still loving the purple to death)
