Of course as always I dont think my swirls are going to be what I was going for
When I get big I want to make soap like you!
-
I store mine in the open on bamboo shelves in our guest bedroom for about a month
A month?? *faint*
I don't know if I could wait. How do you all do it is beyond me.

Here's another set of gross wick pictures...
Thanks for posting the links Stella. A picture is worth a thousand words isn't it.

I think hades froze over because my DH tried my new soap! *faint* I had asked him if he tried it yet and he said no because he didn't want to use up my soap since he figured it was so hard to make. I told him it was very easy to make and he said wouldn't it be easier to just drop the bars of (leaver) into the shopping cart instead .
I think he just likes to get me going. I asked him if he felt sticky and he said no that he felt very clean and it smelled nice too.

~Again~ lovely Babs!

I had been waiting for this thread to get going but I guess every one is busy.
I will get the ball rolling.
In my pot this weekend will be some melts with new f/o's from Nature's garden. Looking forward to pouring Patchouli and Witching Hour. Also some tester containers.

Sweat
in Melt & Pour
I still say you have to come to the dark side and make CPBut some of us are too scared to...
-
You are unpacking a new microwave, get giddy and excited because you have one dedicated to soaping instead of having to wait for someone to finish using the kitchen microwave.
You also know you are hooked when you look at f/o's in a whole new light to see if the are soap safe when before you were just concerned about candle wax safe. :rolleyes2

Reminds me of Indian jewelry when I look at it and makes me want to head south. Very nice!
-
perwinkle, I have been reading more about soap and from what I have read so far the "fuzzy" stuff I had on my BB bars were probably caused from the bar drawing in moisture and had nothing to do with the FO or base. Remember, I'm a newbie and have ZERO clue so next time I will keep my lips zipped.

I personally prefer the more masculine scents (Merlin's Forest and French Vanilla and Oak are 2 of my faves), but florals have their place.
Thanks for that bit of info. I will file that in my weaponry for attack.
Get this mold:shred up a bar of lever, combine the shreds 50/50 with M&P. After it has hardened, wash it a bunch to make it look like a used bar and stick it in the shower. When that's gone, make the next bar 25/75...heheheheSneaky girl, sneaky.
-
Those are really cool looking but I have no clue as to what a bath fizzy is. I definitively need to get out more...
-
The embeds are cool but love the swirls. I'm just hung up on them right now so that is all I see. The bars with the embeds make me want to eat one.
I thought about getting a plain bar mold and thought "nah" but seeing yours now I'm thinking "yeah"! Good job!
-
I couldn't get my hubby to use a moisturizer bar if his life depended on it. He says it makes him feel sticky. He likes the feel from "Lever" type soaps. I'm going to have my work cut out for me turning him over.

Since it's the first batch I'm considering selling I didn't get fancy with it. Just SFIC white base with walnut shell powder and fragrance. It looks like a piece of marble!
Pictures?
I could just sit here for the rest of the day and marvel at my creation.I so get that!

Kitn, are the cold process or melt & pour?
They are so gorgeous!
-
we could give a shit less
Hummm...

Gee.... so it's not just the Advanced that can take a while to cure?
Call it a bad habit but I always let my soy stuff sit for at least a week before I test burn. I even let the paraffin sit just cause I can't break the habit.
I have some C3 sitting right now and it's been about 2 weeks. Probably on the long side but you know what they say about old dogs and new tricks. :rolleyes2
Ya, you can get those testers stacked up pretty quick.

Stop it Pam! You are enabling an addict. The bad part about that too is BB is not that far from where I live (under 300 miles ).
-
Oh, that makes sense now. I thought it was a different kind of soap mix. If you don't spritz the layers when you are pouring that makes them not "stick" together?
-
I use Peak's liquid dye and have never had this happen (knocking on wood as I type). I think they are called Prisma or something like that. What kind do you have Nat?
I do have one tip for you though, don't squeese the dropper when you are PO'd
-
What is rebatch and why would you make/buy/use (or whatever) it?
Does it make the soap better or more creative?
Is it a special recipe?
-
VERY nice! These are M&P? Wholly smokes, I had no clue you could do this. I have SO much to learn..

Great news! LOL!
I agree.
Ordered Up More Soap
in Melt & Pour
Posted
I ordered up me some melt and pour base's today thanks to you all. The original order was supposed to be FO's only but somehow 6 pounds of soap got in my cart!
I've been trying to stay out of the BB gallery but I just can't. I drool and drool when I'm in that section and dream of what could be. All I think about is soap now and I even dream about it. I don't know if I should thank you all or be mad.
