  11. yes, it was a mushy, but not that mushy to lose it's shape. it comes out easy with a spatula.
  12. omg, what does she see in that guy? there are so much more fish out in the sea....... why settle for less? unless he is on disability, unable to work.. You were too good for her, obviously I once dated a guy, in my mid-twenties, and when I found out he dropped out of high school, and failed his ged test three times, I was like ADIOS!! he was really sweet, and cute but honey, you have to have brains too! that's weird about that dollar store find, tho!
  13. Good idea Fern, about users testing each other!
  14. Here's the one I made.... trying to make it "mardi gras" and FO in King Cake (yummy)
  15. I can tell you I went thru the same thing, came here as a newbie- after a few candles made from a candle kit, I was like wow, ready to sell. but these guys made me realize how important testing really is, REALLY IMPORTANT! I found out the wick I was using was crap and testing different wicks, and wax to find out which works - REALLY is worth it bc now I believe my candle is so much better than it was 6 months ago and if I would have sold what I made 6 months ago, I would be out of business and such an embarrassment to my family and friends!! I would hold off that party.. I haven't even had a party yet! I do have a catalog that I include only the scents that I have tested.. yes sounds expensive but I am enjoying the testing bc this is what started in the first place, I love candles! I love always having a candle burn. I have a candle burning right now that is burning terribly, the jar is half black! and if I would have sold that 1, that just makes me look stupid! so, I write down on my notes, "do not use this wick, it sucks" lol Just a FYI!
  16. I haven't seen the straight paraffin from suppliers but I have seen it in craft stores and went, yuck! it reminds me of cheap candles at dollar stores... I never use this stuff yet. I guess adding color, vybar, fo makes it better?
  17. I have a sweet tooth so I do LOVE JS!! I think there's plenty of florals there, and berries... I have her Sugared Plums and Raspberry Creme, and Orange Dreamsicle... all yummy berries! I love her great deals!
  18. WOW... GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perfect for spring
  19. hi, i made my first chunk candle with j223, I know, too soft but I wanted to try to see how it is.. it's ok but would like to be more clear to make it a bit more firm to cut. The problem is I have searched the board and no answers- I just found that it's best to use straight paraffin. Wouldn't the straight paraffin be cheap looking? I love the quaity of j223 is why I was trying with j223. Just wondering... TIA!
  20. aww, love em both, but I'm partial to hearts, so the 2nd 1 is my fave
  21. well, i guess my situation is different since my house is for sale and have to have everything hidden. I hope to have a "craft's room" in my new house. my bed underneath is full of my off season clothes/shoes lol. Thanks though.
  22. Hi... I am still a newbie and have been busy learning how to make candles and have a Q about storing all these stuff we order lol. I live Louisiana, where we don't have basements and the garage becomes 500 degrees from Feb to December, so all my stuff is in an extra bedroom on the floor! We trip over the wax slabs I have on the floor all the time. I have no idea where to keep my stuff. I don't want bookcases to put them on, I want them out of sight. I tell ya though, that is the best smelling bedroom in the house LOL. I was thinking of just stuffing them all in bins, but you can still see all that "clutter". I do not have any more closet space, they are full of other stuff, like my files and photo albums. I have my house up for sale as well, so how do I organize so that the buyers can't see my messy supplies?
  23. I want to thank CANDLEMAN to refer this site to me. I ordered the jars from them (Bittercreek) and these jars are sooo much better than the local stores! even my friends and family agree. I ordered the square masons and apothecarys, for a great price! I think they ended up like 1.00/1.50 each. I just got them in yesterday (only took a few days!) and I'm about to go play with them Thanks again!!!!!!!
