I use palm wax and soy. I like them both, but I like palm wax better because of its versatility.
I have found that wicking the smaller metro (8 oz.) is a bitch. As big of a PITA as the 8 oz. is, the 14 oz. is a breeze. I use a CDN 12 in mine and get a perfectly wonderful burn with little or no hangup. The throw is great. HTH
I wonder why in the world they are so different to wick. So you use the CDN12 in the 14oz one? Any suggestions for the 8oz one...yes i am glutten for punishment...

OK..I was gonna test the status jar with the GG palm....maybe i will just stick with the hex jars...I can get the status jars local and have to have the hex jars shipped but prices are the same.
I agree with the others...palm is way eaiser to work with. Even the wicking was not that bad to figure out.
Palm pillers are next on the test list for me.

I know exactly how you feel..congrats!! :smiley2:
I am doing the same thing and my shop will be open end of May.

I go to the thrift stores and buy the coffee caraffs and use those. I also bought one of those pancake griddle things and sit my pots on there to keep repour wax warm or melt the wax that is left in the pot.

Thanks so very much!! I cant wait to get it!!
-
yeah...I searched again and found a few posts about the palm wax...so i have to cover the coils with melted wax first?? when i first use it?
-
I found the Turk N Surf fryer for 80.00 at a local store. I know many of you use them for soy and paraffin wax....can you use it for Palm wax??
I am going this weekend to pick up one or two of them.

KY's here too...
-
what receipe did you use??
-
me too...that is the only thing i add to mine.

I tested both CSN and CDN's for this wax. I like the CDN's better cause the flame is much smaller than with the CSN's.
HTH:)

I dont use that jar either...but I dont mix my palm either....I LOVE just the way it is...!!

it could be I dont know...I just posted two full boxes of wax in the classies...if you use them and want them PM me.
-
they did...
as far as wax is concerned i use Peaks the shipping is not bad to here in AZ. There is soylutions up in OR they only have soy though...but most of the West coast suppliers want CRAZY prices for their wax...IMO.

I like the education process....people around here love new stuff and they are very curious about the palm wax. I cant hardly give away soy candles here but the Palms are doing real good.
-
I like palm over soy hands down....both can be a bear and neither are "easy" but palm is sooo pretty and sells better for me than soy.
-
Here in AZ the coconut oil is 5.95...still cheaper than shipping...and the OO is running about 22.00 for the 101 oz....still cheaper than shipping.
-
the co-op was over anyway...

i use an old paintbrush and go outside with my pinecones and cinn red hots from KY and soak them with the FO....I do this on news papers on the table outside then I put them in a basket with a pretty ribbon by the fireplace...I dont sell mine...I live in AZ and i have to travel to flagstaff to find pinecones...but I got some for me when we went to the mountians a few months ago...

SW has very complex scents and most are better suited to soap....I have found very FEW candle scents (in 10 years of making candles) that changed alot in the wax from OOB, a very few...everyones nose is different too.
-
Well thats just GREAT....that would be my stupid luck:angry2:....how long did it take for the scent to disappear??
NG's Bay Rum did that to me this week....I crockpot HP it and I can barely smell it...that is why I LOVE TSW even though they are high...you cant go wrong with those FO's with soap.
-
Where to get biz cards online...I know vista print but who else??
-
Holy crap...thats a BIG JUMP!!
-
I only use their FO's in soap...PM me if ya wanna sell what you have...tell me in hte PM what scents you have from SW.
