  1. Does anyone use the 8 oz status jars?
  2. Thanks for the help but she says this is a 20 oz. container and mine is only 8 oz. I will try a zinc though but probably not two wicks???? I will also see the stats on this jar to see how large it is across. Thanks anyway.
  3. The wax is Comfort Blend IGI 4627 and the jars are 3-1/4 in. I found them on Libbey.com. They are called 8-1/4 oz tapered square. So is there a wick you would suggest (they are tappered so the jar gets smaller at the bottom).
  4. Do I need to let my container candle cure before I burn it?
  5. I went to Walmart and bought another presto pot and found jars that I really like. They are very thick (no lid). They are made by Libbey (in Mexico) The say Hex on them and they are squarish (larger on the top than the bottom). I'm wondering how I should wick these, any suggestions?. I will probably use IGI 4627 wax. I paid $1.27 per jar.
  6. I don't shop at Walmart once but I read that they carry jars - can you tell me where in the store I might find them and what type of jars they usually carry? TIA.
  7. Has anyone used IGI 2322 in 12 oz. Status Jars and if so what wick did you use. I think someone told me they used the RRD wicks for the palm wax?
  8. I was wondering about this myself. My other question with regard to tea-light wick is can you use the same wick as with votives? Also, would the same wick work with plastic and/or metal tea-lights or do they need to be wicked differently. I'm just hoping for a starting point. I only have plastic tea-light cup, but was wondering if the metal would be the same. TIA.
  9. Will container wax (4627) work for tea-lights? TIA
  10. Awesome - she does really great work.
  11. Hi Candle Man, I understand what you are saying about the burn and I know as candlemakers we want a complete burn, but if I were purchasing this as a customer I don't think I'd have the same expectations. The wick I used was too big and it had three blowouts when I burned it. I will have to use a smaller wick next time. I made a lot of heart candles and they did not burn as well as a regular pillar either. Thanks everyone for looking and your nice comments. I'm so pleased I finally learned how to size my pictures too.
  12. My photos have always been too big to attach. I think I figured out how to do it so this is my test. This is a flower mold that I wanted to try out. I think it is cute. It is scented Love Spell.
  13. Yes CandleGuy I was referring to you - 3 weeks seems good to me. Was it hard to do?
  14. How long have you been working on your web site?
  15. I just signed up with DIY two days ago and also gave Becky's name. Becky is doing my graphics for me.
  16. I'm planning to use gold foil labels with my new logo. I can't wait to see how it looks. That is why it is not in color.
  17. I'm attaching my new logo that Bizzy B made for me www.studiobeckdesign.com I'm really exited about it. She will be doing the graphics for my website next. Let me know what you think?
  18. I haven't gotten mine yet :embarasse
  19. I just came up with my name and my husband and I sat around talking about a name. I thought about why I like candles. I like how they look in my house ... I wanted to do something different than use my name but I will probably include it in such a way. My name is Radiant Glow Candles and I will probably include my name by saying something like Radiant Glow Candles - Hand poured or handmade by Judy (I'm not sure yet but something along those line). Also, try to not put so much pressure on yourself, I think it hurts your creativity.
  20. I finally came up with a business name. I got my DBA back today and I'm so jazzed. My new names is Radiant Glow Candles. Next I will have to get my business license, design a logo and then make a website. Yikes that is overwhelming. I hope you like my new name.
  21. Thanks - that makes a lot of sense.
  22. I'm going to be making my first container candles and I was wondering if I don't have glue dots or a glue gun to hold the wicks, will superglue work? TIA
  23. I saw on one of the suppliers sites a wick sampler of all the wicks this supplier sells, approx. 200 wicks for $39.95 but I can't remember where I saw this. Does anyone know????? TIA I found it, it is Lone Star and you can get 280 wicks for $39.95.
