You know what I get lost on is how hot should the wax be when adding FO..when you're using two different blends how do you know?

You got us! Whenever you feel you need support just post. I'll give you as much support as I can thru the computer. I know what it's like to feel like you have no one. Been there myself. Keep your head up and don't worry..you will have that fabulous wax blend soon

awe, don't get discouraged. I know it's easier said then done at times. I've been at this since August and I'm still testing. You just have to keep in the back of your mind practice makes perfect. I keep telling myself this when I get a wax blend that isn't great. I have spent a good amount already but my husband keeps telling me gotta spend money to make money. He's been great support and keeps me from getting discouraged when I want to throw the towel in. Hang in there

Yeah I just searched it as well and don't see anyone else saying that either. It was just a cheap wilton mold would that matter?

I had this happen twice now. I made some pink sugar tarts. Wiped them out and made some birthday cake tarts. The birthday cake tarts smell like pink sugar. Is this something that happens with silicone molds???

and Partylite wax is awful. It can't even begin to compare to the mom and pop wax out there.

My scale has decided to die so after much research on here I see the popular one is this http://www.oldwillknottscales.com/my-weigh-kd7000-silver.html . Now my question is..have you ever needed to calibrate it? I noticed the weight needed to calibrate it is almost $50 which is more then the actual scale itself. I'm getting the plug in adapter for it but is the weight really needed?

LOL! I can already relate. it just happened with a wax blend I did. I wrote it down on a piece of paper, ended up giving my mom the tarts I made with it and of course she tells me how great it is but I think I tossed the paper at some point. I'm definitely buying some notebooks tomorrow. One for wax blends and scent blends. I still got some time before I'll be comfortable messing with scents. Hoping I don't toss a whole notebook as easily as I do pieces of paper. lol

Are these wax embeds on these clamshells that you can make or are they already premade? I've looked on all the suppliers websites and I can't find them anywhere. I'm making my mom a basket up of wax for her birthday and she loves butterflies. I'd love to find some embeds like those butterflies but I'm having no luck.

Could someone explain to me using the Qtips in a jar. I understand you dip say one of a certain scent and another in a different scent until you get the desired scent you are looking for. But once you have the scent you are after how do you know how much FO to add of each based on using a Qtip? Again, I'm sorry for the questions..I'm just not understanding how it works. tyvm!

I'm actually glad that's what it was because I was seriously sitting here trying to figure out how anyone could melt wax in it while making sure not to move it even the slightest without it falling out. Last night I was trying to hold the plug in with one hand while trying to stir was definitely a sight to see. Sorry for all the duh questions I'm just still such a novice to wax.

Actually I figured out the problem. The magnet fell out. Where I dunno but that explains why it isn't holding at all.

my adapter is in the back and my spigot is in the front.. I got it pushed up against the wall hoping that will help keep it in there.

I only ask because mine came off last night and I barely moved it. Does anyone sell ones that have the plug in type adapter?

I just received my first presto pot with a spigot from Aztec. I was using the old fashion way to melt wax. I noticed tho soon as I move the pot even a bit the plug in magnetic adapter comes off. Is there anyway to stop that or just have to be very careful and make sure not to move it much?

Don't mean to hijack anyones thread but I am also interested in blending at some point. Still learning the ropes of just the basics tho. I do have a question. How do you know the ratio of FO using the Qtip method? does a Qtip hold a certain amount of FO? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm still new and learning.

I found these fluted molds online. Problem is I have no idea how many ounces the tarts will be and the company hasn't got a clue. The dimensions are 2 inches diameter x 0.59in height. Anyone have any idea what size tarts they would make? I'm just worried I'd buy them and they'd be super small.
