  1. Thank you HorsescentsS for the information. Do you know where to purchase pounds of this scent?
  2. I know about the distributors, like Nature's Garden, Candlewic, and the others. I was searching for a manufacturer like International Fragrance & Technology use to be in Canton, Georgia (they are now Agilex and won't let you purchase without spending 10,000 a year minimum) - use to be able to buy 10 lbs of your own formulated scent. Or Intercontinental Fragrances out in Texas, a manufacturer, which Symrise took over - you could buy 10 lbs there. I'm looking for a manufacturer who makes the scents, so your scent belongs to you and no one else can purchase that exact scent. Does anyone know a manufacturer? One you can purchase smaller product from, like 5, 10, or 25 lbs?
  3. A long time ago, I use to buy scent from IFT and Flavor and Fragrances in 10 to 25 lbs of same scent. They don't do that anymore, unless you have big bucks. Does anyone know a manufacture where you can buy 10 to 15 lbs of same scent nowdays? Thanks in advance.
  4. Hi, Does anyone know what would be the best candle wax for hand rolling cinnamon bun candles? I use to get a candle wax that was a base paraffin wax with additives included, but they quit making the wax and I have been trying to make it myself for over 6 months now, but can't. Does anyone know of a wax that will do this? It held the scent perfect, was creamy, cooled slow enough so you could cut it into strips and roll it up. Does anyone know of a wax that will do this?
  5. The wavy lines were not jump lines, they were ocean like waves on top of the wax I had poured into 5 pound pans. I was mixing the steric and vybar into the wax and then pouring the wax into pan that would hold 5 pounds, so I could have it made up in advance and knock off a pound or two when I needed it. I wanted it already mixed with additives in advance to save time. Should I not use the 4144? Is there another candlewic paraffin wax that is better to use for making faux food candles? candlewic said novelty candles in the description of the candles. i make candles that look like cinnamon buns, pies and cakes. I tried without the steric, only vybar and the wax was too soft. It would not even stand up in a pillar, it slumped over in the heat of the summer. I've been trying for over a 6 months. And thank you for talking to me
  6. Hi, I am at my wit's end and ready to jump off a bridge. Could, would someone please help me? I have straight paraffin from candlewic with a 140 melt point, I need to know exactly how much vybar 103 and sterin to add per pound of straight paraffin. I've read everything from "a pinch", "a few grains", to 1/2 teaspoon and even 1 tablespoon per pound of wax for vybar. I've read everything from 1 tablespoon per 10 pounds to 3 tablespoons per pound for sterin. Please, please help. And I have no idea what 1% to 10% means. Can the suggestions be in teaspoons or some sort of measurement I can understand. Most of my wax had wavy lines. Some is very glossy. I am so tired of burning wax, I just want to scream, give up, and hide under the bed. And ........Are you suppose to use both? Or only one at a time? When I used vybar without the sterin, the wax was to soft to. Of course, it was mid summer.
  7. I like Starla's Candle Making - lol because that is me! But I will purchase from Candlewic.com when I need something special. They are nice to work with. Make's Scents Candles is a nice place too.
  8. Susie Bell is selling her blanks through http://www.wicks-wax-scents.com/air-fresheners.html All of her blanks are there, along with her instructions and photos. Although she is keeping her oldest customer/friends, others will be redirected to this site. Yes, the blanks do cost more, but with the rise of shipping cost, advertising cost and in general, the cost of doing business on the net, it had to happen.
  9. Yea, making your own is easier. Especially if it is something simple.
  10. This lady makes molds and she has good rep on ebay. http://stores.ebay.com/Candlethings I think she one neg in a year. I can see one per year. I buy her stuff. She has designs I can't do.
  11. You can make your own mold with mold max 20 or mold max 30. It is as easy as baking a cake. If the molds were pink or blue, this is the stuff they are using, anyway. Get it from www.smoothon.com cost less too. I have some simple instructions on my mold page in my candle making instructions. Ok, it is somewhere on the site and smoothon has instructions to, if I am not mistaken. This is why ebay has the reporting section......whatcha gonna do otherwise.
  12. Is this the person? http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=candlemaniaembeds They have had lots of negative feedback.
  13. Candlewic does make their own, but I don't like theirs as well as Keefers. Keefers is a distributor and purchases from the original. I know the dye manufature is on the east cost somewhere, but that was as close as I could get. Someone at Candlewic had a slip of the tongue one day while I was talking to them on the phone.
  14. Totally agree, don't limit the way you can make money. And price breaks are a great thing!
  15. I don't know if they sell tart burners, but look for Trippies in Ohio, they are an import export business - been there since around 1950. 740-884-4434 There is a website, but I think it belongs to the brother in Columbus, Ohio. The phone number above is to the original. Missy's Candles use to purchase all their containers through them. I know they deal with China, because all their boxes have China on them.
  16. That happened to me once on Ebay, when purchasing a pillow sham. I gave that lady the benefit of the doubt. She replied to all my emails, and said she had sent it. Something just told me she was not a liar. A year later, she notified me that it had been returned to her in the mail. Sure enough, she sent the returned mail box, unopened. Inside was my pillow sham. But if you think you are being ripped and not getting a response, then by all means report them to paypal and ebay. I run a business and take visa/mastercard over the phone and have paypal on my site. I always use a tracking number for packages. If one is lost, then I replace the merchandise - cost of doing business, but if through tracking it says they received it, then I have my receipt for proof. .
  17. I have instructions for making apple pies and snowmen without using molds. You can do muffins and cinnamon buns without molds too. When I need to make a mold, I use mold max 20 or 30.
  18. I used mold max 30. It was pink. I've made rose hip molds, apples, pecan, raisins, and cinnamon buns. Love the mold max 30. Some mold making instructions here.
  19. Thanks, I've been experiementing for about 3 months now and just can't seem to get it. I will try the sponge on color. Wanting to make some for Christmas gifts next year.
  20. Does anyone know how they got their wax this color? Is there sprinkled cinnamon on there too? I know how to paint on wax, but can't get this base color, mine just looks like the same color brown all over the candle base with none of the cool color depth like in the photo. Is the base mottled brown colored wax. I've never used mottled wax.
  21. http://www.fourseasonscandles.net/newdesign_home.html I like the lay out and look of this page better then the first one. Looks friendlier. and if you want to get higher in the search engines listings for more people visiting your site, you need to trade links with the other candle making sites using your keywords as ankors. Like I did below.
  22. Here is a pic of drilling a candle hole. Hope it helps drill bit was purchased at Lowes
  23. My accountant said to charge sales tax for orders in state. That is the way I have it set up, till the law says otherwise. Have you started exchanging links for the ratings in the search engines?
