  1. I have some boxes - they are not made specially for votives though. Here's a pic of what the box design looks like (not the actual box, but the look of it) - the actual dimensions of the boxes are 6" (length) x 4.5" (width) x 4.5" (depth). They are white high gloss, one piece boxes. I think these would be good to hold 12 votives in, but you will have a little bit of room surrounding them. I was going to use them, then decided against selling in 12's, and I was just going to fill the room with crinkle paper.

  2. * The fragrance will decrease over time if the animal is kept at room temperature. To refresh the scent, heat with a blow dryer for about a minute. Do NOT keep the blow dryer in the same spot as the bear can catch on fire from the heat. This will need to be done every few weeks or so, or as desired.

    * Never put wax-dipped animals directly on wood. A dish, glass or metal, will protect the wood surface from stain by the oils in the wax.

    * Keep out of the reach of children, as these animals are no longer toys.

    * Wax dipped animals do NOT need wicks because they are NOT meant to burn. They are only to be used as decorative air fresheners.

    * The bears will naturally lose scent over time. Since they sit at room temperature, naturally they cannot “throw” scent as well as a candle or potpourri burner.

  3. She may have been talking about what they call a paraffin dip that some therapists & spas may use to help with softening & exfoliating the skin. I just had a chiropractic appointment on Saturday, and my doc asked if I wanted one, but I turned it down. This customer may have thought that she can just pour some on her skin & it would be the same thing.

  4. I just recently sold some container candles to a co-worker of mine. She saw me today and stopped me. She said if it was possible to single wick the jars, because the jar gets so hot. We were interrupted so I had to leave. When I went back & talked to her, I asked her how long she was burning the candles for. She said all day long! I asked if she ever blew them out, let them cool, then relighted, she said no, she just let it continue to burn for the entire day. I asked if the wicks were lopsided, she said yes - told her why the container was extremely hot. She said the container (10 oz.) was basically all liquid, but she loves that, because she thinks it's neat to be able to look through the glass :shocked2: I've marathon burned to see what it would do if somebody were to do like she has, and the glass was extremely hot! I told that she is NOT supposed to be burning a candle like that - that is why I put a warning on the bottom. She said that that's how she burns her candles, because she likes having her house smell good all day. Kinda jokingly I told her she's banned from buying my candles anymore if she's gonna burn them like that. She said she has a Wal-Mart candle, made in about the same kind of jar as mine, and it's single wicked and the glass doesn't get hot. I asked her if it tunneled or if there is a lot of soot, she stated she didn't think so, but she is going to be bringing that candle in to me tomorrow.

When I first started testing these jars, I tried all kinds of wicks, the same ones numerous times because I really really wanted to single wick, but it just wasn't happening. Has anybody been able to do so & get a good burn?

    Thanks!

  5. I store mine in sterilite containers with a 5 on the bottom at home, but for shows i haven't figured it out yet. I have two ideas...one is to store them in glass containers I got at the dollar store and let everyone mix and match there own...number two is to put say three of one scent in a cello bag and sell them this way. What does everyone else do? And will the cello bags draw out the scent?

For shows, I like the idea of letting customers pick & choose so I think the bins would be a great idea. If you chose to use the cello bags, it will not draw out the scent. Polyethylene draws it out, like zip-lock bags.
