  1. Ok I am getting ready to place an order, once money is in my paypal... Does this look good: I have scents already from my candles that is soap safe.. All but one at least.
  2. Thanks guys! Where is the best place to buy melt and pour supplies/cheapest?
  3. Should I try to make soap? I start projects, change my mind, and lose money a lot. (OCD) What do you think? Is it easier than candle making? I would like to make health and skin care products because A LOT more people use soap instead of candles. But I would continue to make both. What do you think? The melt and pour seems a lot easier compared to others where you can get hurt by the Lye. Thanks in advance!
  4. I made it with the scent of rose, I want to try a different scent other than a flower.
  5. I don't think I can... I'll ask ~~~~~EDIT: On Live Chat the woman said "Yes, those wicks should work fine with those jars and the 6006 wax." / "We do recommend testing your wicks since there are many different variables that can affect the way it will burn, so if you would like to test first before ordering in bulk, then yes I would recommend a Sample Pack. I can't guarantee that those wicks will burn perfectly with your specific candles, but they have been shown to work well with 2.5" to 3" candles with paraffin and soy wax so the C-65 would be the recommended wick to try."
  6. I order some 40z Jelly Jars from Peaks along with C-65 wicks. Is this a good match? I pray that it is and I didn't waste $8 for those wicks. What do you think? OH I will be using 6006 for these jars. Thanks!
  7. I heard that LX 10 will wick good in 2 oz. tins. Am I wrong on this? I don't have the tins, planning to order, but want to know when I get them.
  8. This is my second wax dipped flowers. The silk flowers were in my house, used, and looking ugly. I couldn't make them look any worse then they were, so I decided to dip them. He is the outcome!
  9. It bothers me too! I mean I don't care about the shipping costs for scents and dye, but Wax is the most expensive! That's what I want discounts for.
  10. I do not have insurance currently. What insurance is the best? I have a few named but I would like some ratings from the companies.
  11. I found a lot of information. Thank you for the help!
  12. Hello, Welcome to the site! There is lots of good information here! There are palm candle makers on this forum, hope you can get some tips from them to help you!
  13. Thanks for the site and advice. I plan to fix the costs a bit after I recieved my first order (from a family member). This is not what I am doing to make money on. It is more like a hobby that I would like to pay for with the money I make from my candles. I am not looking to make money on this, but break even. Thanks for the advice! I plan to change the pricing. If I need help I will ask you guys!
  14. I am looking into insurance and permits now, thanks for your concern. I actually started to make candles around Novemeber from a few kits people got me. I test some of my candles and my grandmother tests the rest of them. She is a die for candle lover, ha. Thank you for the comments about the pillar. I am planning to change that photo out.
  15. How much should they be? I found out that it is half a pound of wax per Pillar. When I get the cost it is about 3$, then labor. How much should I be charging.
  16. Ok. Do I need a business permit or anything in this point in time?
  17. I am currently selling a few items online to family members. I was beginning to wonder if I need to be charging a sale tax or if I need a permit? I live in CA if it helps! I thought once you start making 500$ a month you need one, am I wrong? Thanks in advance!
  18. Well for now I have a big cartel site... I might get a etsy shop when the time comes. I look at the ebay fees. For me to sell something for 9$, it cost $2.41 in fees. So it is a lot compared to small items.
  19. I fixed everything except for the photos because I plan to do that in the next few day! I can't find a background! For now I put in a new one. This one allows you to read easily. Is it fine for now? It doesn't look professional at all!
  20. I have been looking at the site BigCartel. Over about a month this is what I have so far... http://scentifulcandles.bigcartel.com/ After having to change waxes, scents, wicks, and all that I only have one item up. Still not ready to sell and probably won't for a while. Does anyone have any comments on how I can make it better? The images I know I need to fix because I want them to be in a specific area to make them look better. Thanks in advance! Still not ready to sell, I just want some feedback so far.
  21. That is a lot of money! Is she selling jewelry? That would make sence. 300$ for fees is a lOT. Far too much.
