I usually order lip balm tubes from Bittercreek but need a bulk order and found that the price at Bayousome is much better. Has anyone ordered the lip balm tubes from Bayousome and are you pleased with them? Thanks!

At Christmas I gave everyone in my dentist's office a bunch of lip balms and they loved them. Well today I got a call from someone from the office and the dentist wants to purchase some to give to his patients. Wait till you hear this! 1000-2000!!!!!!!! :grin2: How much of a discount should I give with such a large order? I'm very smalltime and don't know diddly about large orders. I generally charge 1.00 per lip balm. Help!!!!!! I'm so sxcited!!!!!

Wow!! That's a lot of soap all of you make!!I'm a very small time soaping newbie. I can't even imagine how much space you must need to cure all that soap. How I would love to be locked in a room full of curing soaps!! I think I better get busy soaping!! -
I guess it depends on what type of building you're in. There used to be a huge craft show around here every year in an old dept store building and it was on 2 levels and the place was always packed with customers, top and bottom. Then the junior high school tried the same thing and there were a lot of customers on the first floor but not many on the second floor. The long stairwells were too much for a lot of people. The craft show in the old dept store had an escalator. HTH!!

Can you get the square masons in a store or do you have to go online? They do look very nice and I've searched all the store in my area with no luck.

I just made the Canolive 3 soap recipe from the Miller web site using Purely Herbal from BCN and boy did it accellerate fast!! I had to hurry up and slap it into molds and as fast as I was doing that it heated up and started gelling. I've only made one previous recipe with canola and olive and don't remember it doing this.The other soap batches I've made with lard and this fragrance didn't accellerate trace. Is this typical with canola and olive oil recipes?

I saw someone selling bears last year and she put them in baskets. They looked wonderful! Just have to wonder if the FO in the wax would eat through the basket?

I made the Cannolive recipe from the Miller web site and loved it. I was thinking of trying the Cannolive 3 recipe and wondered if anyone has tried it and what you thought of it? The Cannolive recipe made a great soap except it got very soft on the bottom in the shower.Thanks!

They came with the lids in one plastic grocerystyle bag and the containers in a second bag.Maybe I should at least wipe them out with a bleach solution.

Do you wash these in a 10% bleach solution like you do jars? I'm going to use the pushup sticks.Just wondered if water would linger in the pushup part? TIA!!

I've been using an old Rubbermaid container to measure lye and don't really like it and have been searching for something else. Today I saw my brother's big ol plastic drink container from Burger King and it looks perfect. It should be okay to use since it's plastic?

I finally have about 6 batches of CP soap under my belt and decided to shave the sharp edges off the last batch I made. What do you do with them? I imagine it would take a lot of them for a rebatch or soapballs. Any Suggestions? TIA!!

I searched all through my local Joanne Fabrics for mylar to line molds with and couldn't find any. I was at Walmart yesterday and spotted it there. I got the extra thick Mylar. Just thought I'd share in case anyone else had trouble finding it.

What is it with them!! I live with my brother and he absolutely will not use my soap!! In fact he makes a point of letting me know that he bought soap at the store!! I even made soaps that don't smell so "girly" and he still won't use them!! I've also given some to my other brother and his family and get no feedback from them whatsoever. Friends of mine just love my soap(I do too!!) so it isn't that my soap is bad. Why do they do this??!!! Ok, I got it off my chest!!

I had been wanting a Baker's Rack for drying soaps but didn't want to spend the money for it. Wouldn't you know, I found a nice big one at the flea market for 10.00!!! I had one heck of a time getting it home but I knew that baby was mine!!! I'm so excited, just thought I'd share. :bliss:

Can anyone point me in the direction of a website with a good lip salve recipe? I need something to help with these cracks in the corners of my lips. I've been looking on the net and haven't found what I'm looking for. One recipe that sounded promising called for Spermaceti which I've never heard of. Help!!

Do your oils need to be at room temp then too?

Has anyone ever used this to seal jars before putting the lid on? I was thinking about trying it on my jars of body butter . Just an idea.

Has anyone made homemade laundry detergent? I found some recipes on the internet that i'm interested in trying and my question is can you use fragrance oils in something like this? TIA!!
