  1. I made LS following the recipe on the Dish (it was the Coco Loco recipe, I believe). Mine does not smell off at all, so maybe it was the sunflower, as someone else said. ETA: I made it a few months ago and it's still doing fine
  2. Check Lotioncrafter -- they have a few different styles or sprayers and the roll-ons. I like both, but sometimes the sprays aren't targeted enough for me and make me sneeze. I just made a roll-on tester for my friend and she loved it, but my other friend won't use anything but the sprays. IMO if you make one you can use the same formulation for the other (or with some minor tweaking).
  3. I add the FO to my pour pot before I add my wax. I think it helps the wax and FO bind together better. I used to do it the other way and kept getting this niggling feeling that the FO wasn't incorporating well.
  4. Definitely pour cooler. For me, depending on what the ambient temp is when I pour sometimes I need to do a second pour, sometimes I don't. Although, just to confuse things, these days I do a second pour anyways because I poke around for air pockets in the wax.
  5. starting at $2.35 and up from there, depending on FO
  6. Since I was so busy this weekend and couldn't get these in the mail, I wanted to take a quick picture of all the products and share them with everyone. Let's see if I can get all the labels correct Top row left to right: SpaceGirl (Light Facial Lotion for her / After Shaving Lotion in Chrome for him), ExtasyPung (Pink Pepperberry Body Spray for Her / Colorado Breeze Body Spray for Him), silkysoycreations (White Lily Amber silky lotion spray for her / Curve silky lotion spray for him) Middle row left to right: CreativeBodyEssentials (Vanilla Lime Shaving Cream for Her / Wildwood Shaving Cream for Him), cottoncandy (Deep Cleansing Oil for Her / Arabian Spice Shaving Cream for Him / Mango Face Scrub for Her) Bottom Row left to right: LindaColo (Verde Soap for Him / Honey Ginger Spa Soap for Her), bunkie68 (Sandblaster Scrub in Forest Muse for Him / Sugar Scrub in Noire Cedre Vino for Her) Very bottom: Synascents (Scent of Jasmine Scrubby Soap for Her / Scent of Curve Scrubby Soap for Him) All these items look and smell sooooo yummy! Y'all are in for quite the treat when you get them. :yay:
  7. Sorry -- the smallest one, so item # 830930
  8. I get my box for a 4-pack from papermart. http://www.papermart.com/templates/83-0-85.htm
  9. Girl, you've got balls! (and they are mighty fine )
  10. We've been in withdrawal without Grumpy soapies to look at! okay, I'm good for now -- those awesome specimens should last me.... until maybe tomorrow. LOL
  11. I've used the Ultimate Christmas in candles and it sold well. Mostly pine but a little earthy as well, if I remember correctly. Throw was strong (HT and CT) in my 75/25 (GB415/4630) blend. Didn't use in any B&B, though. HTH!
  12. I did that Thanksgiving day last year -- forgot to blow it out and didn't remember until we were on the road. I was stressed the entire time until we got home. Luckily everything was fine -- the glass was hot but not dangerously so. The aluminum pans would kinda help isolate the candles, I would think. Theoretically, as long as nothing can fall in the flame OR if the container cracks or pillar burns all the way down, the wax/flame/mess would be contained. My main fear would be my container cracking (failing), and the flame catching something nearby.
  13. I use the fine grain and your citric acid should be fine. You might have to break apart some monster clumps, though.
  14. No. If you sell, you're a business. You can have a tax ID and never sell anything. Some rules and regs vary based on where you live, if you are in the US, check with your state. I will say that some people who do an extremely low volume don't ever file as a business -- it's their choice, and in my mind a bad one. The paperwork to create a business in generally pretty low. I know in my state it's less than a nice dinner out. What gets expensive is insurance.
  15. I double wick with two ECO-2's or ECO-4's, depending on the FO. By then time it's halfway down, the meltpool is consistent all the way across and any hang up is getting smaller and smaller.
  16. Thanks for the information! Guess I'll be visiting my local Dollar store.
  17. I really like these containers from CandleScience... http://candlescience.com/containers/12-cube-jar/ but the shipping is really, really ouchie. Has anyone seen this type of container from another source? I've searched a few times but am coming up empty. Thanks in advance.
  18. I use Polawax... and don't think it leaves a waxy feel. Those who have gotten lotions from me in swaps (recent ones, please!)could provide a more objective opinion, but I get no comments or complaints of that nature from customers.
  19. fine. I ditch lids once I light the candle, anyways.
  20. Can you post your exact recipe? Maybe if we saw it something might pop out... cuz you're right, that's just weird.
  21. Yeah, I know. For some reason I always mentally think of it as a "pink" smell, not lavender. And since I'm changing the name, I figure I can take liberties and change the color, too.
