classiccandle
If I wanted to have a custom mold made that would make 4 oz bars of rectangular soap would anyone be able to tell me what the measurements (length, width, height) would be for each bar? The soap would have square edges also.Thank you!
Candybee
The best way is to check out some already made molds at soaping suppliers like Brambleberry, WSP, etc. and get the dimensions. However, a standard size is 3.2x2.5x1" for a bar of soap. I am pretty sure that is a 4oz bar but it could be a 5oz. I use tray molds so I get a different size bar 4x2x1. If I were gonna make my own mold I would want it to make at least 8-10 bars at a time. A soap mold that makes 8 bars of 4oz soap should hold 2 lbs of base. sbilli1
To figure out how many oz of soap you need for your mold:Figure out width & length of your mold plus height of the bar you want to make. The formulation is: w x l x h x .40 = # of oz needed
