Weekend agenda?

A little late considering the weekend is already upon us, but what are your plans?

For me I have to make more of my freshly fallen snow in a bigger mold because I've had so many inquiries about it from all the different forums and FB I've posted too, and also my mom and sister saw it and they both want a couple bars each. :)

So I'll be doing that, I also received a mold from a dear friend from this board (Thank you again 7 Pawz!!) it's a deep snowflake mold that I finally decided would be perfect for a salt bar. I am not sure on scent but I do know it will be a peppermint blend of some sort, be a light pink and I will be using both table and Himalayan pink salt in it.

Then I will also need to make up another masterbatch of my soaping oils once my hub gets back with getting my Olive Oil. (My sister works at Sam's Club so I make her get my OO for me and my hub picks it up from her that way I get her discount on top of Sam's bulk prices. :)

And on top of this I need to clean my house from top to bottom, washing walls and shampooing carpets because I am hosting an annual Memorial Party for my brother. It's been 11 years and we do this every year, so my house goes through this every year as well. LOL The reason for the party is sad, but it's always a great time, and my brother used to always tell us "I have the best friends in the world, nobody has better friends than I do" and he was absolutely right. I have never run across a group of people better than this core of his friends. He grew up with them which in turn means I grew up with them as well, and to this day they all still hang out together and are best of friends. It's a fun group, and this party has brought me closer to them as well. They are all like brothers and sisters to me. :)

So that's about it for me. What about y'all? Anything fun or pressing this weekend?

(Oh and I had shows but they got cancelled and it's just as well, I have so much other to do! - I'll start up again on the 25th)

Prep work for me this weekend. I get a wholesale order every 4 weeks. Before I pick up my supplies, I prepare wicks, set up tins (put them out on trays and wick them) if I already have them in stock, etc. By getting the menial work out of the way, the wax pouring goes a lot smoother. I'll be all done by next weekend!

Nothing! Well no "work"  I'm sitting here watching my kids play Monopoly and preparing my lesson for church tomorrow.  I've had a super busy week so I'm trying to relax today. I'll probably get some work done later. lol.    I've been wanting to do inventory on my supplies as I have some shows coming up and need to assess what I need to get.  I haven't had enough motivation to do that though.

I love hearing about the memorial party!  My family does something similar for my mom.  Every year the weekend of what would be her birthday, we get together and the our kids make gingerbread houses.  We weren't able to do it this year though.  I know it sounds weird to make gingerbread houses in May but the holidays are so busy and sometimes hard for us to get there weather wise that May is easier.  My mom would have all the grandkids over each year to make gingerbread houses so we're keeping that tradition alive.

That's nice Suzy!

My brother had no kids and was divorced. I wouldn't say he was a partyer or anything, but he did enjoy his Crown Royal, so when we toast we do shots of Crown.

We usually end up having 50-60 guests show up every year even though there is only about 10 in his core group of friends he grew up with, he did know them all and they all want to come and commemorate his life with us. As he said, he had the best friends in the world and it's a true fact. He did.  :)

Its Saturday evening. I just got home from my weekend Fall Festival. Its out of state in WV about a 45 minute drive from VA. I did pretty good today. Hoping to do well tomorrow too! Wish me luck!!

I have to say I have seen more men spitting at the ground at the Festival.  What is it about men and spitting? Its so gross! I mean what do you have in your mouth that is so nasty you have to spit? Honestly. I can understand if you have a medical condition but I saw about 6 spitters today. They can't all be sick, just sick habits. Ewwww! (End of rant)

It wasn't chewing tobacco-- just spit. I know because I saw it and was sorry I did.

Anyway-- finished the show up today as it was a 2 day weekend show. The weather was rainy and cold but I did okay. This was not a big show so I was not expecting much. Next weekend is a bettter show so I can't wait for that one!

This past weekend (18th & 19) I had one of my best shows. It was windy and the wind was cold but it stopped somewhat on Sunday and turned out nice.

I have a farmer's market this Saturday. Its the final market for the season so I am hoping there will be a nice turnout. I don't make a lot at markets like I do at craft shows but you never know what will happen. Just hoping no more cold winds or wet, rainy weather.

I'm so glad you did well!! Good luck at your Market on Saturday.

I have a show this weekend, 2 in November and 1 in December that is a 2-day show. I had one booked every weekend, but I just couldn't do it, so I have someone filling in for me on the ones I felt bad if I cancelled on such a short notice, and 1 I cancelled that I didn't feel that bad about because the show is not a good one and the fees are a little high, but the kicker is the organizer is really not very nice of a person. She is very mean spirited, so even though I feel a bit guilty for cancelling "last minute" (which it's not it's the 22nd of November) I don't feel as bad as I do for the others I'm having someone cover.

Don't blame you for canceling the Nov. 22 show, its not necessary to put up with those kind of attitudes, besides, I'm sure you and CB will have other great shows , as nice as your things are, I know you'll both do well :)

I have 2 in November and 2 in December. I hope we both do well in them! Like you I normally book every weekend during craft show season but I can't keep up with the soap sales. I sell my soap faster than I can make it. Its a good thing but I need to ramp up my production.

I also need to go through my soap line up and streamline it.... again! I think a big problem is I am making too many different soaps. I keep running out of several at once. If I cut back on some I can make more of others that are bigger sellers. Right now I have my soap line for next year down to 24 soaps. Not counting my shaving or other specialty soaps. I still need to wack some out of my line up somehow...
