BigRigg
Has anybody ever had this happen? I ordered a 4 oz bottle of Blueberry Cheesecake from Candle Science and I only got 3 oz from it. Might give them a call in a lil bit to see if they can fix it.
Judy, USMC
It's so very seldom I hear of problems with Candle Science. And their customer service has a good reputation. It's worth the call ...
deb426
Did you weigh it or are you going by how much is in the bottle?
BigRigg
I weighed it. It came out to be 3.1 oz

CareBear
It's typically best to first try to address the concern with the supplier, and only raise the red flag about it if you don't get satisfaction.
BigRigg
I wasnt too worried about it. It was only an ounce. I was just wondering if this is something that happens from time to time and if I need to start checking?
EricofAZ
I've had good dealings with Candlescience. Some suppliers, however, measure the FO based on water weight. They do this because universally, all containers are based on water weight size. Water weighs more than FO.So if you buy an 8 oz container, I'm betting that the size is based on water weight and your candle will come in around 6 1/2 oz, maybe less if you don't fill to the brim.Same for bottles that hold FO. If the supplier buys "4 oz bottles" and fills them with FO, you're not going to measure any more than about 3.2 oz of oil. While I think this practice is deceptive, it is, however, a standard industry choice and we chandlers simply need to be aware of it.
diott
Do you have experience using Eco 4/6 in 3.1 inch diameter tin with parasoy? This seems to small of a wick for that.------------------------Lunettes De Soleil Femmes
lyncamp
Pretty sure Candle Science measures by weight. I bought a 16 oz. bottle of Lemon Verbena a couple of years ago and there was a note on the bottle that 16 oz. wouldn't fit in the bottle so they sent the extra in a little bottle.
