GoodScents
I'd win for best (or worst) mushroom! I have no idea what happened, this was a 6" pillar and you can see there's only about 2" left, it didn't mushroom ever.....then this:
debratant
LOL...it looks like it gave birth to quadruplets! Wow...Wonder what happened?
rjdaines
Does it appear to have happened at the interface of those two colors? Could there have been a puddle of FO that formed there? Maybe a air bubble and some FO weeped into it. Just wild guesses.
spark-me-up
Wow! SO infuriating when you don't know how it happened!?! Seems strange that this would only occur at the last part of the burn.Is it possible there was a higher "dye load" in the layer where that happened? Only thing I can think of... ChrisR
I'm pretty sure that happened when the side blew out, you lost all your wax and the wick pretty much fell over.
GoodScents
It's all the same color, I think the top looks lighter because it was still hot when I took the photo. Oddly enough it blew out on the other side from where this shroom was hanging. I'm thinking it was an impurity in the wax, I made this one for myself with questionable wax anyway. I've never seen anything like that before, even with the el' cheapo candles, lol. Just glad I caught it when I did. It's hard to tell but the flame was actually in what melt pool was left, my first though was, great I'm going to burn my house down (then I grabbed the camera, lol)
ksranch
How long since you trimmed the wick??
