gunner26
Hey Ya'll..The other day my husband and I were at Neiman Marcus just checking out some of the candles. When we picked up one of the candles, the name I can't even remember, it was extremely soft, like I could have spooned it out like crisco, but not as oily. Can you buy wax like that or is that a mixture that you have to come up with? Thanks :smiley2:
rjdaines
There are soft waxes that you can buy, two paraffin waxes that are soft are 4630 and the even softer 4627. There are soft waxes on the vegetable wax side too.
Ravens
Joywax is also very soft as is the JW9900, which changed to some other number after Just by Nature closed up shop.
Chefmom
Yes, I tried a slab of joywax. I could not believe the smell of it!! Last year I was a midnight doughnut fryer and Joywax smells EXACTLY like the solid fat that we put in the doughnut fryer!!! I kid you not. When I did some tests with that wax in containers with ZERO fragrance it gave off a faint fried doughnut smell. My kids came home from school and actually thought that I had either made or bought doughnuts!!Handling it was like handling crisco shortening, or the buttercream base that I worked with in the bakery. I often wondered if I could make soap with it!!Tami

I see SW is carrying it with a different item number. Appears to be same wax but not positive.
lsbennis
Was it a Voluspa candle? They use coconut wax in some of their candles and coconut is a very soft wax.

rjdaines
Not sure what the original poster was looking for but a soft wax does not necessarily mean a lower melting point that a harder wax. If texture was all they were interested in, then ignore me.
