  1. Yeah, I read up about that lawsuit. It looks like the reason they are being sued, is because they are using the exact patent that belongs to Lumetique. The manufacturer of the candles used to be a business partner of Lumetique and had rights to the patent, but then lost them somehow and then still went and developed the candles based on that patent. I guess we will see what happens with that.
  2. Thanks for all the replies. Looks like I have a lot of Waxes to research. and Yes it was Voluspa...I couldnt think of the name until you mentioned it. I have never even heard of coconut wax. Back to the search engines I go
  3. Hey there.. I am hoping someone out there maybe able to give me some input. I started a internet based candle company about 6 months ago. My candles are all wooden wicked candles and I know there are a few of you out there who sell candles like mine. Just recently while doing some researched I stumbled upon a patent and it kind of made me a little nervous. The patent is under a Dayna Decker and its title is " Candle Having A Planar Wick And The Method For Making Same" Here is the link to the patent: http://www.google.com/patents?id=qrL6AAAAEBAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=dayna+decker&hl=en&sa=X&ei=8NgZT4rnIuSLsQLVy83VCw&ved=0CDoQ6AEwAg After reading the patent it kind of seems to me that I can not sell a candle that has a planar wick, which would be the wicks that all of the candle suppliers sell. I just want to be sure that I am able to sell my candles, because like all of you, I really don't want to be sued. Have any of you heard about this? Thank You so much for your help!:smiley2:
  4. Hey Ya'll.. The other day my husband and I were at Neiman Marcus just checking out some of the candles. When we picked up one of the candles, the name I can't even remember, it was extremely soft, like I could have spooned it out like crisco, but not as oily. Can you buy wax like that or is that a mixture that you have to come up with? Thanks :smiley2:
