Reese
I just had someone ask me to make a hurricane that would be 24" in length and 6" wide and 6" deep. Then they wanted on 12" in length 6" wide 6" deep. Short of having special molds made how would this be done? If this can be done they want to order this type of hurricane all of the time. Any suggestions?
RobinInOR
Call Pourette for custom molds I wonder if there would be a way to mcgyver up a temp mold - something like taping together a bunch of 1/2 gallon milk cartons (trying to think of something simple that doesn't stick to wax) just as a test - or a bunch of ice cream cartons or something. Probably wouldn't give you a smooth finish though.Or maybe do a smaller model using a log mold to give them the idea, then go get custom molds? When I had Pourette make mine the molds were average price, with a $50 setup fee I think - it wasn't too bad.

sharyl55
Just trying to think what in the world you would use for a water bath. Don't know if Lowes would have some sq. metal ductwork you could use to make a tester.

jenniejr
For things that size I use my deep sink for a bath. (some people also call the a slop sink.) Do you have one?
Reese
After racking my brain (which is a chore for me ) I called pourette and placed the order. Should have them by the 17th of Aug, and yes I'll have to come up with something for the water bath. I didn't measure it but I have a big aluminum tub (used to be used for ice & beer ) that I use at the shop and it might be long enough for the 24" but I know the 12" will fit so that one is not a problem. My customer called me back later and now he wants me to make a huge vase type hurricane using my dipping vat, this should be fun. Thanks for all your help and if you think of anything else let me know. Once I get the vase hurricane done I'll post a pic (only if it turns out LOL) Thanks again.
