bravo5
I moved this weekend, and found a couple 1lb containers of lye that I never got around to using. I won't be making soap for awhile since I currently don't have a good space for it, so I'm wondering what to do now with this lye! I'd rather not have it sitting around until I move again. It's got to be a few years old- does it go bad? If so, what's a good way to know? I didn't open the containers yet, but shook them a little and they are not solid or anything. I would be happy to give them away if they are still good. Otherwise, can I just wrap up in a couple garbage bags and throw in the regular trash?Sorry for the dumb questions! lovemylabs
You could check with your local waste management and ask them. Our waste management company just had a special day where things like chemicals, paint, batteries, etc. could be taken and dropped off. Yours may have something like this as well. TexasBrat
Use it in your drains. You don't need a lot of space to make soap. I have a small kitchen but I manage. Edited June 11, 2011 by TexasBrat
LuminousBoutique
I'd divy it up among all my drains
