Daisymae
What are your pros and cons for tins or glass jars? I am getting ready to purchase containers and wanted to know what is better or your personal preference. And for glass jars (not the mason jar type) where do you purchase? Where do you purchase your tins?Thanks...
PAgirl89
Currently using 6oz silver tins, 4oz squat hex and 6oz oval hex. Reason being $$$$. I buy mine from Candle Science, it's my one stop shop.
Darbla
Pro for tin: no glass to crack or shatter, either from it being too hot or some small flaw in it that you didn't see (anything can happen when glass is shipped) or someone dropping one.Con against tin: you don't get the pretty glow of the light through the glass. CandleMakinCutiePie
For burning candles in my house I prefer glass. If I were to sell candles I think I would offer both.Tins are cheaper but glass is prettier so it really depends on your market I guess. bah67
We use glass containers, but when you search for containers you should look at where you can get it close to save on shipping.
Bella Rose
I think they both have their advantages. I like the fact that the tins can be taken on travel. Glass at home is my personal preference. I would offer both.
psfponies
I only use tins. I like the fact you dont have to worry about wet spots like you do with glass. No heating containers just melt and pour! And the fact that you dont have to worry about the heat stress when you reuse them. (I only reuse them for myself and friends I never sell reused containers)My only con is they can be boring some of the glass containers are so pretty! Now if I can only find a 12 or 16 oz tin that is 3-1/8" diam.
