trisha
What color do you use for Hot Apple Pie FO? Last time I made some I used a rust chip. I'm out now and only have a few shades of red and brown. What would you use? TIA
Asher
You could go with the color of the McDonald's hot apple pie I guess that's tan.
Margaritamama
I try to stay away from the usual red......
Bev
I shouldn't have read this post right before lunch ... now I want a McDonald's fried pie!!!
trisha
I was kind of curious what it would look like to mix a red and brown. Has anyone done that?
Asher
I mixed red and brown for some cedar candles. I didn't use a whole lot of either color, but probably added a bit more brown than red. It was a lighter version of the sides of the chest....actually, the top here is almost the identical color of the candles:
Margaritamama
I was kind of curious what it would look like to mix a red and brown. Has anyone done that?I would assume you would get a mahogany / auburn type color. It would depend on how much red, or brown.......
trisha
Thanks for the advice everyone:highfive: I'm going to try and mix them and see how it comes out. I can always just use red later on if it looks screwed up:rolleyes2
Scented
Use more brown than red if you mix them. Going the opposite will get you dark red.
7Angela7
I mix brown with yellow. It just kinda lightens the brown up some...
Asher
Unfortunately, at least for me, the color of the liquid wax has looked exactly how I wanted it many times....and then when it sets the color is off. I only recently started using the liquid dyes. At least with those you can control the amounts better and it's easy to repeat the colors (i.e. just count out the drops, instead of trying to figure out how much dye block was used). I don't own a scale of any kind so I can't even weigh the amounts.P.S. 7Angela7 - Your Chargers are on a roll, but they're in that tough AFC West division (not counting the Raiders, of course). I'm hoping Peyton and the Colts can go 16-0.
firstlady
I use Peak's honey brown , turns out just like the color (tan) in a apple pie with cinnamon.
