candlemama
I was reading through some threads in another forum and came across this company that mixes M&P soap with their CP, according to a forum member who knows the owner of the company. I think it would be fun to try. I know you can make transparent CP, too, but I'm no where near ready to try that out! If you've tried something like this, what is the best way to get the M&P and CP layers to adhere?http://www.soaptopia.com/soaps
Carriegsxr6
they sure have some nice looking products
Misty
I've done it, and I just used the m & p as a swirl in the cp. I poured the cp in to a slab mold, and then used the melted m & p as a swirl.
Kitn
I have tried it too, as Misty described.
candlemama
Thanks. Part of the reason I want to try it is so I can use vanilla or coconut in the M&P with vanilla stabilizer. Would the vanilla in the M&P cause my CP to brown even if the CP has a non-vanilla FO?
Scented
It might bleed, but you can try using the stabilizer in CP too can't you? Edited May 27, 2010 by Scented
Meridith
It might bleed, but you can try using the stabilizer in CP too can't you?I myself have never had much luck with vanilla stabilizer in my soaps. It holds for some time but eventually, my CP soapies start turning.

I always just embrace the browning... but this sounds fun, I'll have to give it a try some time. I need to buy some M&P to play with! I've never tried it. Just remember several here boasting about how they don't have problems. I was figuring vanillas will turn M&P eventually too, but I don't dabble in that type of soap any more. I don't color my soy candles and it turns them yellow. Maybe those that have had no problems did not wait long enough to get them? It took my soaps time to turn. I agree that it also changes the feel of the soap.
Scented
As brown as some of these vanilla-based soaps get I can't see anything keeping the brown at bay.
Meridith
Ain't that the truth Scented! That's why I think the blind/reverse swirl can be your friend.
