Red
Which would you consider to be more moisturizing and better for super dry skin? And I am speaking of salt/sugar emulsified scrubs.
candlemama
Hmmm... personally I like sugar scrubs better. The salt scrubs I've made tend to irritate my skin, while the sugar scrubs don't. As far as which one is more moisturizing, I'd say it's a toss up. I really haven't noticed a difference between the two in personal use. It could be because I use the exact same recipe with the same oils, just switch out the salt for the sugar. Mine are emulsified as well. TheWickedWick
I agree with Candlemamma...I like sugar scrubs over salt scrubs. Mine are emulsified as well. Sugar just seems gentler to my over-50 skin.
pamperme
I prefer sugar it is finer and doesn't seem to hurt as much. LOLWhen I did my scrubs I did sugar in a soapy base and salt in an oily base.Salt also seems to be more drying.
LuminousBoutique
Sugar, 100%. Salt gives me horrible red rashes on my legs... Sugar never does.
Country Magic
I'm with everyone else... sugar scrubs all the way! Edited May 23, 2010 by Country Magic
josie1091
Sugar scrubs are more gentle. Salt scrubs are better at exfoliation. I use the salt on my feet. Of course, if you have cuts or cracks, even on your feet, you don't want salt.
