TheWickedWick
I just now am starting to play with lip balms and have read many threads about how shea butter can go grainy...sometimes months later. Is this true with using Mango butter? I made some today using the Mango and really like it but am concerned if the grainy issue applies to Mango as well. I'd like to think I finally have a winner...not a big fan of "surprises" from an unhappy customer.ThanksKaren
ah-soy
Yup, mango butter can also go grainy.
TheWickedWick
Drats!!!! That's not what I wanted to hear...I was afraid that might be the case. Oh well...it's a very lovely lip balm. I don't have an all oil formula unless someone out there would like to stear me in the right direction. Thanks for the infoKaren
CareBear
all butters can go grainy. I use butterEZ at an amount = 10% of the butters (so I substitute it for that 10%).http://www.lotioncrafter.com/butterez-trade.html
foxfire
i love EZbutter! i also use between 10-15%. good stuff!
TheWickedWick
CareBear...so I remove 10% of my butter (Mango & Cocoa Butter in this case) and replace it with the ButterEz? Is that correct or do I add up the weight of my butters and add 10% ButterEz?
CareBear
You are correct - you remove 10% of the butters you have in there and replace with the Butter EZ. The Butter EZ is harder than mango, but softer than cocoa butter so I'd keep the ratio of the two the same. If you PM me I'll see if I can try to remember to send you a sample of it.
