TheWickedWick
Are you using a pre-made base you simply whip up and then add your sugar, fo, etc? If it's like mine..it's white and color added to white is very hard to get deep colors. You can get light to medium colors but I have not had success going for "deep" tones. I use water-soluable dyes from WSP and TKB.Maybe someone else will answer that has had success with deep colors. I'm just too afraid of adding too much and getting colored bubbles and staining peoples skin.

TheWickedWick
Then you may not be able to get really deep colors unless you add a lot of dye. I use the "brights" from TKB and get nice colors...more than just soft pastels but not what I would consider dark.
