macyboutique
I ordered some of these and forgot I had them and I am wanting to experiment with making tarts with them. How do I pour the wx in them? one hole at a time or just pour until the shell in full? ThanksMary
Judy, USMC
I pour into them until almost full then just close it up. I sell them in the container.I've seen others use the clamshell as a mold. They fill the clamshell and wait for it to set up, remove the wax block and repackage the block into a polypro clear bag for sale. Not saying it couldn't be done, but I haven't heard of anyone just filling only the little compartments. NaturallyTru
You probably could use the clamshell as a mold and pour just the cavities (not fill the whole clamshell), then unmold and package that way if you wanted too.Trudi
HeavenScentU
Just pour until the clamshell is full.
elfcat
Pour until full, let sit until hardened, close and label and away they go.
deannashim
Hi I am new at making clamshells, and was trying to figure out if all clamshell molds are the same? I have a local candle supply co in my town, but everytime I pour a clamshell it smells just like melted plastic. I have been pouring them at 160 degrees. I was wondering if maybe it's the kind that this company carries. any suggestions?
Sag_77
Someone may correct me here as I only use these for my samples right now. In my experience 160 degrees is way to high, I think I let mine cool till about 120-130 degrees befor pouring.
