jwn6w
Hi, I am making votives using 4794. After I pour my votives and they cool they are sunk down in the middle. So I had saved some of the wax for a re pour. Well after I removed the votives from the mold the top part is a different color than the bottom. What is the reason? Thanks it seems every time I make something I have a problem.
Candybee
What you're seeing is the repour line. Make sure your repour fills the sinkhole and just levels the top but no more. If you are pouring more than that you will have repour lines. You'll find that it takes a bit of practice to repour a votive without leaving a repour line. topofmurrayhill
The dye can fade a little bit when you reheat the wax. Maybe that's what you're noticing. If you go to the top edge of the votive cup on the first pour, the slightly lighter color of the second pour will only be visible from the top, which makes it pretty inconspicuous.
