pillar questions.

im going to start trying to make pillars, all the different sized molds are confusing me lol.. what is the most standard size ? i was going to order a 4 x 4.5 but im now thinking that will be pretty big for me to start with. also since i dont have any molds yet can anyone tell me some sizes and how much wax they hold ?

any help would be appreciated!

To figure the volume of a pillar mold, use an online calculator to escape the math equations!

figures the volume of a cube, cone, cylindar (pillars!) or sphere.

For first pillars, a 3" x ??? mold is a pretty common size.

Remember that you do not have to pour the mold full, so a taller mold can be used to make shorter sizes. I use wick pins for pillars.

I agree, the 3" pillar would be the best to start with and I believe that is probably the most popular size. My most popular sizes are the 3x3 and 3x4 pillar with the 3x6 next.

3x3.5 hold about 12.5 oz of wax, 3x6.5 about 24.5 oz etc.
