Mnhorsemom
I want to soap with pumpkin spice tomorrow and I was thinking of using turmeric for the coloring. It is about a 4 pound recipe so what amount of turmeric would I use. Also can't decide if I want to try to swirl or make the whole thing colored...any suggestions would be appreciated. Blest2BAmerican
I've never used tumeric but used pumpkin pie seasoning in my pumpkin pie spice soap and got a nice color plus it helped give the soap more of a pumpkin pie smell and is a nice tan color. I sold many bars at my last craft show.
Vec
why not make a portion of the batch with the pumpkin pie spices and the rest with tumeric and swirl it to make it look spicy???? hehe..just a thought.
Bunny
Even better.. Go get a can of canned pumpkin, and use about 1/8 cup PPO.. OMG, you'll love it! Might look a little light colored at first, but it'll darken a few shades upon sure. (Maybe 3-4 shades)I added mine to the oils when they were warm, and stickblended the snot out of the oils and pumpkin mix before I added my lye water..Just another idea to throw in the pot! sudsnwicks
You can try the turmeric at 1 tablespoon per pound of oils. Or less if you just want a light color.
