henhao
In the candlemaking guides I've read so far, some say the bottom of the mold becomes the top of the candle, others say the top is the top. Is this just a matter of personal preference? Or is there some advantage to flipping the candle when it's finished?
Scented
Bottom is the top. Advantage is bottom has a smoother finish for most molds and a much better cosmetic appearance.
Starr
With my pillars, the bottom is ALWAYS the top. Like Scented said, it looks better!
elliebjelly
I use the bottom as the top because it looks smoother and in my opinion they look more professional. HTH -Ellie
shantillescandlecreation
Same here. We always use the bottom of the mold as the top of the candle. Warning lables cover the pour and repour points.
mparadise
The only time I can think of that the bottom would not be the top is is you were making chunky pillars and wanted chunks to stick up on the top of the candle. The rest of the time I agree, the bottom is the top because it looks better.
