Nolamama
Hello, I am brand new to this site. I have been looking for a forum like this for months. I am wanting to create a nipple cream for breastfeeding. I am clueless on what to use. I need something that stays on the skin and can be ingested by an infant. Please help me!!Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!Ashley
Cedar Leaf
I have always used 100% lanolin or vitamin e capsules. You would want something that did not overly melt and absorb into clothing.Welcome to you!Linda
CareBear
My recommendation is to leave that to the Lansinoh folks and their 100% pure lanolin. Seriously, this is an arena in which I wouldn't suggest playing - a baby gets sick and you are up a creek without a paddle...
Lyndsay
I second carebear. You dont want to risk anything...espeially with a baby. Welcome!
Jeana
http://shop.nurturecenter.com/nanibu.html?http://store.yahoo.com/cgi-bin/clink?nurturecenter+pThCtP+This looks pretty interesting. When I did a search, some people recommend olive oil, and peppermint oil. The peppermint is supposed to help soothe. You could ask your doctor or an aromatherapist, what essential oils are safe for babies.
Nolamama
Thank you to all who replied. I appreciate everyone's input. I don't really like Lanolin, so I am trying to create something that is a lotion. Do you recommend any products that are easy to apply and edible? Thank youAshley
Carriegsxr6
Maybe some butters like: Mango Butter, Avocado Butter, Olive Oil Butter or Aloe Butter
CareBear
Tho I find unrefined shea very soothing and healing I'd not think it "clean" enough for a nipple product.
